How long does it last?  Will I have to replace in 6 months or more like a year?

You can get 1-3 years out of them if you fully submerge and soak them in a bucket of 6qts hot water and 2 cups bleach overnight. Then put them in the dishwater and run them through a cycle with dishwasher detergent and leave it in there the whole cycle and cool down without opening it up until it cools down to room temperature (overnight). Drape the mat over the top of the top rack in the dish washer, front to back, let excess hang over the edge of the rack at front and back, and make sure the agitator doesn't hit it.  Turn off the heated drying also, you don't want or need that extra heat, the hot water is enough.  You can do this every 3-6 months as needed for 1-3 years or until it falls apart... The last Rubbermaid I had just started losing the cushioning after about 3 years and I replaced it with this one. And I like this one better.  I also only have a single shower per day on it, rinse it everyday and hang it on a towel bar to dry before the next days use. so that has a lot to do with controlling the bio-film.

Is this mat a latex free product?

I want to use this in a small shower stall with the drain in the middle. Does this mat drain well or would I need to cut a drain hole in its center?

Ours drain us toward the front but I would choose another Duck Brand mat if I were you.  It’s perforated so I should be able to cut if you want this one.  Duck Brand gas worked the best for us.

Question 4

Our cats chew every bath mat we have put down! Is this one impregnated with chlorox? If so, do you think that will deter the cats? They need therapy!

I would never purchase this mat again. The mat falls apart. Almost immediately the suction cups fall off and it doesn't stick to the shower floor. If your cats would chew on it, I would get one that's free of BPA. I would see if there is one made of bamboo. They shouldn't get sick with either.  I wouldn't trust the Clorox one.
