Great overview of people and change
I really excellent book that combines a thorough grounding in social science theory with the latest research to provide practical business applications. It can be easy to become cynical about change efforts within business, but this book has a in-depth and applicable set of ideas and tools for how to manage the process effectively. I wouldn't necessarily look at this as solely a "change" related texts, it's one the best surveys of the mass of literature surrounding people and leadership. It was a key text on my MBA and has provided inspiration and provides really helpful information to address real business challenges.

good balance of theory and practical application
it is the first time I have given a review that's how good this book is. Whilst there is some confirmation of existing knowledge here, it gives clarity on issues by grounding them in research and stretches one's knowledge/awareness further with new science.I like the blend of practical tips and good summary pieces at the end of each chapter.I train and coach in change mgmt and will be recommending this to all my delegates, managers and leaders.

A constant companion
This book is a permanent fixture on my desk and as you can see from the picture, the book is well used and there are numerous book marks. This is because the book offers practical hints, tips and methodologies for leaders to consider when leading and managing change. So as someone who supports organisations through change and coaches managers it is my "go to text". The book explores all aspects of the change journey, from getting people ready for change to how to sustain new behaviours post change. The focus is on people, after all it isn't organisations that change, it is the people within them. Leaders need to understand the psychological and emotional journey that people go through and need to understand how to maximise engagement. This book shows the way!

An excellent book !
Would highly recommend this book, as it does a great job of combining change management & change leadership in a simple and easy way, whilst ensuring that people stay at the centre of change. Itprovides different perspectives for people working in change ie building capability, culture for change and role of HR to enable a systemic look at how change can be enabled. The book provides practical examples, templates and case studies that makes a subject that is sometimes intangible for people leading, managing and experiencing change, into something that is doable.

Great guidance on how staff react during change
I have read this book as part of my MBA module on Leading and Management people. The format is really simple and very effective with good examples and each section is broken down with key areas and a summary. It could almost be a step by step guide for managers. It will be my go to book for supporting staff who are new to managing teams.
