Upgraded from older models and a superb upgrade
We are replacing older Honeywell units after many years on uninterrupted service. We have ordered the largest unit HPA 5300B for our living room and another size down HPA5200 from this unit. The older units were round, large and somewhat noisy and the newer units are aesthetically pleasing, like an attractive piece of furniture. The pluses here are the Hepa filters are all the same for all sizes for all air purifiers under the Honeywell Insight series. Before these newer units, each Hepa filter were independent sizes and very costly. The largest of the newer units, HPA 5200B takes three Hepa filters and the next size down, HPA 5200, uses only two of the same Hepa filters. You can buy these Hepa filters "R" in small or larger groups so save money. The "A" pre-charcoal filters come in large sheets per unit size and can be ordered in groups to also save money. The ease of use is clear and concise. Buttons you push to change speeds. There is even a projection of speeds against a clear plastic border around the top the unit to permit easy visual of the speed and filter cleanliness.Easy to lift and use, much lighter and less cumbersome from the old design and units. 50 % less noisy than older units except when on high. All previous and current units make a bit of noise on high. We did our research and though skeptical at first, after we ordered the larger unit HPA 5300B, we ordered a second smaller unit. HPA 5200.Coolest thing when registering the unit with Honeywell, they only ask for a number code on the plug of the unit. That is the serial number.Takeaways:1. Upgraded, quieter than previous models2. Filters are interchangeable depending on unit size. That is huge and filters are a snap to replace3. Blends in with furnishings4. Value for the product5. Easier to lift than previous models6. Considerable differences in design vs previous models for the better7. A value all around, including dusting less and cleaner air8. NO odor and perfect for my asthma and allergies

Instantly useful
I always thought air purifiers were a hoax. Seeing how well they worked sucking up a bird's feather named Apollo on Youtube made me rethink it. And since my kids keep having congestion when they wake up in the morning, I bought enough of these for my office and all the bedrooms. I'd hoped we'd see those symptoms disappear in a couple weeks. It immediately helped relieve my common headaches that I thought were caused soley by starring at computer screens all day.I don't know how this compares to other air purifiers. It's small, can be quiet, can also kick out a lot of air for its size. But if you have any trouble with allergies or sinuses, it's more than worth the initial price and cost of maintenance.

Also A Nightlight
First, I want to start by saying I love this air purifier. It does a great job in keeping our bedroom air clean and has been a great help for my allergies. The replacement filters are a little expensive, but that is true with most quality air purifiers. I have two issues with this purifier that I don't love. First, the clear plastic piece on the back of the top lights up, which highlights how cloudy it gets. A few weeks after I got it it started looking cloudy and I tried to clean it, but haven't found anything that does a good job. Second is that there is no way to get all of the lights to turn off on it. On the control panel there is a light bulb button that will allow you to change the brightness of the controls and indicator, but when you turn them off the lightbulb button itself stays on. Because I have this in the bedroom I find that incredibly annoying and have to keep a cloth on top of it to block the light. I'm not sure that manufacturers know this, but not every single device in our homes should also be a nightlight!

Best Air Purifier for many reasons.
Love this air purifier! Found it through Consumer Report ratings and it was a great choice. I've had it 3 years and only needed to change my filter once. I love the 3 tier system, the timer, the the light sensor. I have 3 pets, I run it after dusting and cleaning my house to pick up anything I've kicked up into the air. The filters are a great quality. I only recommend buying and extra pack with the machine because the filters last so long you want to make sure you have them a year or 2 later.
