Chemex Bonded Filter - Half Moon - 100 ct

5 Stars for the filter, BUT - I have stopped purchasing these!! Over the years I've spent SO much money on these...Ignore the "reviews" by people who can't figure out how to fold them, or who just don't want to fold them, blah blah. The fact is, it's easy to fold, and it does the job and makes a fantastic cup of coffee. I finally just couldn't justify buying these anymore - they are so expensive!! And I was using several per day. Soooo.... I finally purchased a reusable filter (about $15) that will last for years. The reusable metal filter is not made by Chemex, and since I'm such a coffee snob, for years I snubbed such a filter.... Also, I was taken in by the reasoning that I needed the special Chemex paper to filter out "oils" or something like that... well, I finally broke down several months ago when I had just run out of these filters and came back here to repurchase and it was over $20 for a box. It was just getting ridiculous. I bought the reusable metal filter. They are sold by several sellers here on Amazon, and even though they say they won't fit the small 3 cup chemex, they do, perfectly. The result: my coffee, which was already VERY VERY GOOD (I am a complete coffee nerd and snob!!), is EVEN BETTER!!! So... I LOVE my Chemex pot and still use it, but not with these pricey paper filters anymore. This, for me, will be a tremendous savings over time. Also, I guess I've saved a few trees! :)

Word around the campfire is that it's the filters that makes a Chemex great. I think that's true. These bonded filters are easy to use and produce a super clean, full bodied sweet brew. I love my Chemex's and wouldn't trade them for any other dripper.

clogs with grounds quick and when moving them away don't make a hole in filter.not hard to fold and use.

Ingenious for one cup.

Not really a fan of these. Wish they would just make a filter in the correct size. A few times the bottom part where you fold it has somehow unfolded and coffee grounds end up in the coffee. Box takes up space.

The Chemex filters work really well with a heavy duty material that withstands the weight of coffee/water when disposing. No worries about splitting when removing to put in garbage. Coffee taste great, I follow the instructions on the Chemex video for the method of pouring the water and it works really well. I haven’t gotten it down how to place the filter with the folds over the pouring spout area but hasn’t stopped me from using them. They are more expensive than other filters, but that comes with no worry about messing with the taste/flavor of my coffee or coffee grounds in the carafe or the floor. I will continue to purchase the Chemex filter with hope in time to master the folds when placing in the carafe.
