Nicola’s review
Such a wonderful warm book! I’ve read this book years ago but forgot how brilliant a book it is. It’s very magical. Patricia is such a fantastic authoress, enabling the reader to picture every scene. I love her books!!

Loved it!
Three girls brought up very differently and whose lives take different and sometimes difficult paths? But the three friends can always depend on one other to pull them through. Story meanders from Ireland to England, the US and the Middle East, giving well researched background detail. The follow on's, City Women and City Lives take up the story where each leaves off and provides a seamless reading experience ideal for holidays. I enjoy Ms Scanlon's books, they are 'Chick Lit' for grown-ups!

*** READ BOOK 3 next as no 2 is the last of 3 *** lovely long, readable Irish family saga
I loved this book. I had read and re-read all Maeve Binchy's novels and was really pleased when I found another Irish writer, Patricia Scanlon. Her lovely long, well written family sagas are great and I was thrilled to find this set of three.*** HOWEVER, BE WARNED: Amazon has labelled them wrongly and Book 2 is actually the final in the set.Read Book 3 next, or else, like me, you will be very disappointed to find the story going back in time. Book 3 fills in all the gaps in the story you wondered about when reading book 2, which is actually the final volume in the set.

A good holiday read
This is a lovely relaxing read for your holidays. It is about friendships , relationships and how life changes them. It was a good page turner, effortless. I didn't feel it was very deep, and some of it a little predictable, and some questions left unanswered, but did not spoil the story that was unfolding. Effortless relaxing read.

I’m new to this author and thoroughly enjoyed the storyline. It kept me interested right to the last page and I will definitely buy the next one on the trilogy.

Easy Reading
Very enjoyable read about three Irish girls who become firm friends. All have different life experiences but it is the friendship that counts. Recommend it to anyone who enjoys tales of the ups and downs of life!

Hard to put down
The storyline and writing make this a great book. There's so much emotion in this book. I enjoyed it so much that I've bought the other 2 titles in this trilogy.
