SABRE Frontiersman Bear Bell: Your Trail Companion for Wilderness Safety
The SABRE Frontiersman Bear Bell has earned its place as an essential accessory for outdoor enthusiasts venturing into bear country. As someone who frequently explores remote wilderness areas, I understand the importance of taking precautions to mitigate wildlife encounters, and this bear bell provides a simple yet effective solution. One of the standout features of the Frontiersman Bear Bell is its audible alert system. The bell emits a steady jingle as you hike, serving as an early warning signal to bears and other wildlife of your presence. This added awareness can help prevent surprise encounters, reducing the risk of potentially dangerous situations for both humans and animals. The magnetic silencer feature is a clever addition, allowing users to silence the bell when not needed, such as during breaks or when in camp. This versatility ensures that the bell's sound can be controlled based on the situation, adding convenience without compromising safety.Furthermore, the durable hook and loop strap attachment provide a secure and hassle-free way to affix the bell to backpacks, clothing, or gear. Its robust construction withstands the demands of outdoor adventures, offering peace of mind that it will stay in place even in rugged terrain. While the Frontiersman Bear Bell is a valuable tool for wilderness safety, it's worth noting that its effectiveness may vary depending on environmental factors and individual bear behavior. While it serves as a deterrent, it's not a foolproof solution and should be used in conjunction with other bear safety measures, such as proper food storage and bear spray. In summary, the SABRE Frontiersman Bear Bell is a reliable and practical addition to any outdoor enthusiast's gear arsenal. Its audible alert system, magnetic silencer, and durable design make it a trusted companion for navigating bear country with confidence.

A must-have for bear season (or ANY SEASON)!
This bell has been perfect for my favorite hiking partner (my dog)!During bear season in the Green Mountains, we use the bell anytime we go on a hike. We have seen multiple bears including cubs so we also carry air horns and bear spray, but this bell gives us some peace of mind, letting our dog wander a little ways off the beaten trails. Now I use this bell year round! In off-seasons, I do put the silencer on partially to dull the sound a little since some of our trails are nearby people’s homes. My dog likes to lag behind on hikes to sniff so it can be hard to keep track of him without looking over your shoulder ever 20 seconds. I can tell by the jingling if he’s behind me or walking farther back. It also lets me know when I should stop to let him catch up when it goes quiet and he’s stopped to take a long sniff!LOVE the magnetic silencer and sturdy construction of the bell and it’s strap. It sounds like a jolly sleigh bell so it isn’t too bad to listen to either!

THE BEAR RAN AWAY
We did a 10 mile rigorous hike this weekend, and I attached this little bear bell to my backpack. My dad taunted me in good sport at the start of the hike: "Chances are slim! I've hiked out here my entire life, I've never seen a bear!"I myself have been hiking 30+ years or so in northern Maine woods. Never, ever, have I or my family seen a bear and we have been OUT THERE deep in the woods, sometimes for days at a time, and some of it on the Appalachian trail.Low and behold, the first time I ever bring bear bells with me (figures) we find ourselves about 70 yards from a massive black bear. The bear seemed to have been laying down, possibly sleeping. We clearly startled him with the bell and he BOLTED in the opposite direction. It's pretty terrifying how fast that animal can move. Man, when you are out in the wilderness and see a bear, you are glad to have ANYTHING that makes you feel even a little more protected. I was so glad to have invested the $6 for this bell and some small portable bear spray I also had in my backpack. I'll never hike again without them. You better believe I clutched that bear spray the entire 2 miles left of the hike and kept that bell ringing!Pros:Bell is lightweightComes in several colorsDecently loud ring, but not enough to drive you totally insaneCons:This bell technically has a way to magnetize a bottom piece in place if you want to temporarily silence it while hiking. On the upper portion of the mountain incline near tree-line, I wanted to silence the bell. However, on steeper incline or more sudden movement, the magnet constantly let go and then it would ring again, over and over.

Great Bell
We trail ride horses and there is always an adventure with wildlife, but this bell gives us peace of mind in those moments we are not chatting or laughing enough for animals to hear us coming up the trail. It has taken me a long time to get a bear bell because I was afraid the noise would become annoying, but honestly you hardly know its there and it is almost like a caravan of gypsies walking through the wilderness and the sound is not offensive at all to us. Two of us have this bell, and I never hear the other rider's, only mine- and I have other brass bells attached along with it and there's a sweet musical chime to them all. So far it has worked- there have been no surprised bears, no spooked boars and the deer are rarely hidden as they perk up and listen to who's coming with these bells on. It's totally worth the price and it is a very nicely made little gadget.

Didn't see any bears
Used in US Appalachian mountains and in Canadian Rockies. Didn't see any bears on an isolated trail with loads of blueberries and fresh grizzly scat in Yoho. So I guess it did it's job.
