Cute little nightlight
This was a gift for our 5 year old daughter to go along with her "tent" and other camping items for her birthday. It sits nicely on an end table and of course on the floor in her tent. It is made to look like a half log with a stone "fire pit" with logs and flame. The concept is great, but it is not realistic at all. To turn it on, you simply push down on the flame - easy for a child. It gives off a dim glow, more than adequate for a nightlight. I thought because it is made to look like a flame, that it would have a flickering effect, it does not, therefore, it hardly looks like a campfire. But, we live in a log home, our daughter' s tent is made to look like a wood clubhouse so this little light fits in perfectly with the decor and theme. It serves the purpose and overall we are happy.

Best Night Light Ever
This was much smaller than I thought it was going to be (I should have read the product description more carefully), so it wasn't what I expected (was looking for a campfire to play "camping" with, not a nightlight), but my son absolutely loves this campfire night light and so do I. It's easy for him to turn off and on and it's convenient for me to click it on in the middle of the night to see when I check on him or for him to use as a guide/light if he needs to take it with him to use the restroom in the middle of the night. The light is bright enough to be comforting, but not too bright to be distracting. This gets used every night in our home (he often falls asleep with it next to him in his bed) and we have yet to need to change the batteries. We've had it for about 5 months. It's also really nice to not have to worry about him playing with a nightlight that's plugged into an outlet. He was always pulling that one out of the socket.

Cute, but very small
It's very cute. It would be great if it was a little bigger, it's quite tiny (much smaller than I expected, but that's my fault because I failed to notice the dimensions that were posted online). I can't speak to how well it works yet, because it's a present for my 3 year old daughter for Christmas, so we haven't tested it out yet. Although it's small, I still think my daughter will love it...she's been having a lot of pretend campfires at home lately using my battery operated LED pillar candles, so I think she will find this is a step up :).....UPDATE. My daughter loves this and uses it every night when she goes to bed. Very easy for her to turn on and off (you just push down on the top) and it gives off a decent amount of light. Although it's smaller than I was expecting, I'm glad I bought it for her.

Great Nightlight!
I try to raft down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon every year since 2005 and this little light is Awesome! NPS doesn’t allow open fires in the Canyon... this little fire suffices for providing a little light while enjoying a cocktail at the “gathering” after dinner at the campsite! Works VERY WELL and it’s humorous!! Several of them also provide a nice path light to the “Groover” when you need to go in the middle of the night!I also have given them to all 7 Grandchildren as nightlights... they work well and they LOVE em!

Tiny light
I bought this for a baby shower it was on the registry. I definitely thought it would be bigger then what it is, it's little you can hold it in your hand but it is cute. I guess it's not supposed to be a lamp but a night light and that's what it is.

Boys love it!
We first found this campfire night light in a camping trailer we rented. My 6 and 3 yr old kids loved it! Perfect night lights for the darker lower bunk bed. I bought 2 for our home. The batter life is good.

and actually isn't a bad size for a 4 year old to tote around
This is a avery cute SMALL night light. I emphasize how little it is because I was a little surprised. It will serve my purpose for it well, and actually isn't a bad size for a 4 year old to tote around. The light easily turns on and off. It takes 3 AAA batteries and requires a small screw driver to install them. This is good since it makes the batteries unaccessible to those little people we spend so much time and energy to protect. I'm sure my little will love this addition to her campout in her room!

Fun night light
I bought this for my son's 3rd birthday and I think it was his favorite gift. It is very easy for him to push the top of the night light to turn it off and on. It is a perfect small size so fits well on a nightstand. He happened to also receive a fire truck toy for his birthday and enjoyed having the fire truck "put out the fire" by pushing on the top of the flames to turn the night light off. He did this over and over again. Besides using it for play and keeping it beside his bed, he also plays with it outside and in his play Teepee in his room.

Cute, but also tiny and damaged
Product arrived having obviously been returned previously: has scratches and damage on 3 of the lower 4 corners.
