initial feedback the day after installation. Unit installed on my travel trailer. works well.
Located in Mesa Arizona. Product seems good on initial quality. I give it four and a half stars on the second day. My name is Lee. I'm a plumber buy trade. I just bought this Forest river 2010 travel trailer and the furnace and water heater failed the first week. So i disconnected the old 6 gallon tank heater that sprung a leak. I purchased this 2.62 gallon per minute unit based only on its rating and plenty of videos on you tube to check it out before purchase. it took a lot of labor the remove the old system and re pipe it for the outside use with this tankless heater. Unit functions / works well. its a little touchy to get the proper gas flow and water flow to the correct setting. Be sure to be careful the unit will produce extremely hot water140 degrees and more. the conditions i installed the unit is 70 pounds of water pressure which is very high. Due to high water pressure when you increase water flow towards high setting it would turn the unit off. You would have to reduce water flow and it would turn back on. If you had lower water pressure this would most likely not happen. The original travel trailer propane system was used to supply propane. I had to buy a 3/8" flare hose to connect to the trailer propane system. A separate bottle would have worked just fine. I wanted it to be a part of the original system of the trailer. Shower head was very good I replaced the shower head in my shower with it. To the plumbing aspect. I have pex 1/2" piping and cut out all the piping and valves for the old heater. I piped both hot and cold water with a hose bib / silcock which has mounting a flange and mounted them through the wall of my trailer. I purchased standard washer and dryer flex hoses for water connections and the 3/8" flare hose so it was a permanent installation but easy to disconnect and remove for travel or replacement. Unit mounted easy. I did have to install wood under the unit to make wall stronger. My travel trailer wall was just a thin piece of metal. One factor of note is that if you are trying to use two fixtures like the bathroom and kitchen sink at one time the unit cant really keep up with the higher demand for water. So temperature and water flow are reduced, but that's no big deal. In the end I like the unit... In Mesa Arizona we don't see freezing much so when its in the 30's cold and windy unit functions without issues. A noteworthy fact, there is no pilot flame its electronic ignition. I like 120 degree water. Unit takes 13 seconds to produce hot water at my kitchen sink in very cold conditions (30's - 40's). My sink is about 15-16' away. Its only 4 or 5 seconds for my bathroom which shares the wall the unit is installed on. one thing that that made me second guess the unit was the digital display. After I put the batteries in the display did not come on. I thought it was broken. The display will not be on until the heater is active and producing hot water. All in All the unit produces very, very hot water. Its propane efficient, again no pilot flame its electronic ignition. Unit is very quiet during combustion in comparison to other tankless heaters.Tankless heaters are the future of water heating. So as a comparison of the 6 gallon original heater and the Camplux heater, it's a no brainer. The original heater had a pilot and ran all day long to maintain the 6 gallons of water. The 6 gallons of water lasted 4 to 5 minutes when taking a shower. that's horrible and way to short. the original unit was really heavy, this unit is half the weight and much easier to work on. the old heater was a pain to work on being on the inside of the trailer. So, if your old system has failed just say good buy to it and put a modern tankless replacement for it and never run out of hot water. I got the unit and the needed materials for around 400.00 dollars. I did the labor so that's not factored in. the replacement for the 6 gallon heater was north of 600.00 buy itself.UPDATE:After using the heater for a few days, it had issues in my shower. when tempering the hot water with cold water in the shower somehow the unit turns off and stops producing hot water, but what i have realized is that the shower head that came with the unit greatly reduces water flow. so, I took of the shower head that came with the unit and replaced it with the one that was in my shower previous to my purchase of the tankless heater. this head dose not force the water through lots of small holes, so it doesn't affect the flow rate at the unit, thus it works properly. The unit is working well. You need to change the gas flow and water mixture when the outside temp changes but that's no big deal.Best of luck to you.Lee.

Great to use for horses but....
So one the whole, this machine is awesome.Directions: The instructions for me were a bit tough for me because I am not a HVAC type person but, through trial and error, and a knowledgeable friend, I was able to get it running.Heavy: I am 5'2" and 120 lbs. It is kinda a heavy piece of machinery so, finding a place to hang it was a challenge. I used the 5 hook bridle hooks to hook it up in the back and hang it from a pipe fence. Keeping it level is super important and staying outside because of the propane was also important.Shower: I wish the shower hose was way longer. It is meant for someone to stand still while taking a shower not washing your horse. You need a cart/ dolly of some sort to move around your horse to wash them because of the hose being too short. Or you need someone to hold your horse and move them around your shower. Everyone at the barn was still impressed. It will definitely help me when I have to wash my horses in the cold. It will just take longer because of the short hose and the pressure isn't super strong.Temperature: Temperature is adjustable. The dial will increase or decrease temp. I was able to get the temperature to about 86 degrees when it was 43 degrees in the sun outside. My horse really seemed to like the warm water. She wasn't shivering at all.Hope this helps!

Great deal, even better performance.
So far this heater works amazing as a temporary one for my hot tub. Just gotta keep the tub covered up with one of those plastic blue covers you can get cheap on Amazon until you got it hot enough then you are good to go. I can heat my 6x8’ tub up to 105 degrees in less than two hrs. Could get much hotter if I wanted it to be. All depends on your own comfort level. Definitely worth the money. You have to use a decent quality water pump for this application. Can get at Lowe’s, Home D or Amazon. Don’t leave it sitting out in the rain or it will rust out. Keep the heater covered up when not in use and should last for years.

Works perfect - but i'll add a few tips
If you understand mechanical things, then you'll get this simple heating device. If you don't, be sure to read and follow all directions carefully. Understand that some of the small plastic pieces are not designed to hold a lot of stress - like the quick-connect fittings. Just hand tighten them until you feel the rubber seals compress then let off. Be careful with the battery cover because that lid could break if you bang it up.The gas fitting is very critical to get right or you will have a fireball. This water heater works great. If you don't grasp the concept, then read my explanation to help you understand. The digital readout is nice, but it's not a setting. It's there to tell you the current temperature. If you have a steady water supply, then the temperature will remain steady. This heater basically allows water to flow through a heat exchanger where the flame from the gas heats the water. If you turn up the water flow by using the knob on the right, it will cause the temperature to decrease. If you turn the heater temperature control knob on the left up, then the temperature will increase. The water temperature is dependent upon water flow rate and the gas/temperature control knob. It's extremely simple to understand, but you really need a steady water supply to keep the temperature from fluctuating...steady flow rate and a steady water temperature in as well, because if your water supply fluctuates temperatures is will greatly affect the heater's output. Suppose you're taking a shower using a supply that's 40 degrees and it's getting low and you husband refills the supply container with water from inside that's 70 degrees, then your shower is suddenly going to just to a scalding temp.

Works great, but can vary based on ambient air temperature and wind
Very happy with this water heater. It is hard to get water hotter than 95f when it is cold outside, as during spring time. During the summer months it has been working great, water temp can easily go over 120f. So need to adjust the settings from time to time. The shower head attachment that comes with it is my only complaint, the connection between the hose and shower head is very flimsy, I will be replacing it. Otherwise this is great and well worth the money.
