This is Inches. they are super sturdy, I've been using them for two years now to mail clothing, purses, jewelry etc. Very heavy duty and a great price, Very happy with purchase, hope this helps!

How much does one of these approximately weigh on its own?

I weighed one on an old-fashioned postal scale, and it was somewhere between 1/2 oz and 1 oz.

I see only the back is shown. Is there a large portion of the front that has a choking warning written on it?

No. There is no choking warning printed on the mailer.

Could I ship a pair of shoes in these bags?

I have shipped shoes in them before but if they are stiletto heels you should make sure they are in bubble wrap first or the shoe box. Hope this helps
