Natural Flea and Tick Shampoo with Oatmeal for Dogs, 16.9-Ounce

Been using this on my dog's for years. Love the smell and how clean they are after.

This is a must have for us! I can’t really speak about how effective it is against fleas and ticks, we use medication for that. But this makes my dogs so soft and smell so good, like cinnamon.

I will agree with one of the other comments that this stuff does smell like "Christmas in a Bottle." Not so much the pine scent, it's more like cinnamon Christmas-time. Hope that made sense. As for keeping the fleas away.. The bottle says that it is effective for up to 7 days. I have to say that it did keep them off of my puppy. I was so happy when I gave him a second bath in this stuff to not see fleas anywhere. The first time I bathed him there was like 5-6 fleas that died while washing him.( & this was with him having a treatment of Pet Armor topical flea treatment a couple weeks before, so I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with the Pet Armor since there were fleas on him a couple weeks later, when it's supposed to last a month like Frontline etc..). This time there were none, thanks to this shampoo. It is different than using "regular" dog shampoo though. It doesn't lather well, & you don't drench your dog with water before adding shampoo. You lightly dampen the coat, then try to pour it directly on the dog (not on/near eyes, mouth or nose of the animal). & then work it in. I work it in for at least 5-10 min, then rinse. It takes a bit to get used to working with the thin consistency & the low-lather of this shampoo, but I can deal with it if it's going to work. As for the oatmeal keeping the itch away. I've only seen mild improvement with that. I bought this shampoo because it is more natural than most, & I figured that it would be good to have "double" protection from fleas. It's safe to use with topical treatments (Pet Armor, Frontline etc..) cause it won't wash them off. I also like that it kills and repels fleas, ticks, flies, and mosquitos. Only drawbacks are the price, and maybe the consistency (you may need to use quite a bit of the bottle if you have a large dog, I have a small dog so it's not as bad). But all-in-all If this continues to work, I will most likely be buying it again.

This worked like a charm a few summers ago on our dog when we moved and had a huge flea problem. They were jumping off of her in the tub as soon as we put it on her, it was gross, but effective. We bought another bottle through amazon this last summer and it didn’t have the same effect. I think the fleas were just tougher this year for whatever reason. A few would jump off here and there but she still had quite a few hanging in there. We finally decided flea drops were the way to go. Smells nice though, like cloves and cinnamon. Our dog smells good for a couple of days afterward too and her skin doesn’t seem to have any irritation to the shampoo. It is very thin and watery so put the opening in contact with their fur and tip the bottle to let a little out and start lathering right away, it’s easier with two people but I’ve done it alone too. I don’t understand all the complaints in other reviews about how watery the shampoo is if it works...It’s not that difficult to adjust to.

I love this product. It works great. I use this product with regular dog shampoo at the same time because the scent is a little strong.

A big help in controlling the number of ticks our Spring Spaniel was exposed to. As spring hit our area so did the ticks. Our girl had several in one day, then the next and this went on for a week before researching something other than Flea & Tick drops, that only kill them after they have already bit our dog. I purchased two through Amazon both that used botanical naturals to repel them before they climb on your pet. The result was immediate, no more ticks biting, however we did find a few on her long fur heading for her head, neck and nose, where all previously ticks had bitten. Next time (5 days) we bathed her we made sure to soap up her ears, head, neck and snout (make sure not to get in the animals eyes or nose) let it stay on for at least 3 to 5 minutes, the long the better. The next 5 days no ticks. Nice smell and it works!

This shampoo leaves your pup smelling like cloves. And the fragrance lasts for weeks. It is easy to use but is thin and therefore takes more to get the job done. My puppy is 35 lbs and I may get 4 washings from one bottle. It is made for dogs, not humans which I hope means the pH balance will not lead to dry skin or allergies. Since I haven't seen a flea on puppy, I don't know if that is because of the shampoo or the time of year. I got puppy in November.Added 7/13/20: one bottle leaked in shipment because cap was loose.The product was delivered earlier than originally promised. That is good. However, the cap on one bottle was loose which allowed a small amount to leak out and although there was a protective plastic wrap, the liquid leaked into the box

This makes my dog smell like cinnamon for weeks. I love it! I should preface that my dog doesn't have fleas, this is more of a preventative measure that we alternate on bath days with a regular oatmeal shampoo. We are very satisfied with the results. I imagine the negative reviewers who claim it didn't work perhaps had existing flea problems that this didn't quite cure but if you're just trying to stay ahead of fleas in the first place, I think it's a great find. I went with this one after reading the labels on seemingly all other flea shampoos that you should wear gloves and keep your pets separated and from licking themselves as they could essentially poison themselves too - YIKES! I like that this "natural" version doesn't have such scary or stringent parameters.
