BLACK+DECKER 400-Watt Fruit and Vegetable Juice Extractor, Black, JE2200B, 12.2" x 6.6"

What can I say? It's Black and Decker! Fantastic quality. Amazing price. Bought two, gave one to my daughter, who's the real juicing nut! Takes about 10 seconds to figure out how to take it apart, and after that, it is a piece of cake. In addition to the juice cup, the fiber cup and the pusher, there are only 3 parts to rinse off: the body, the clear top, and the blade. It takes less than a minute to get everything perfectly clean, though I do spend a few extra seconds making sure the blade is clean because I read elsewhere that it will last forever if you keep it clean--If you're going to toss it in the dishwasher, make sure you clean the blade first. I use a stainless scrub pad and briefly rub over the inside and the outside under running water. The kind I use comes in a 3 pack at the dollar store, it's just a bunch of woven metal links. Not brillo. (I'm going to try the toothbrush method on it and see which works better. Might ask some knife professionals to see which method is best for blade longevity. ) No sponges are harmed in the cleaning of the blade and it's been very gentle to my fingers too-it's almost like a little colander. But I would not want to face it as a carrot or a tomato! Works great. You do have to cut items up to fit in the hole, but I do that anyway, because I take out the seeds. Even apple seeds have cyanide. I don't think that's a particularly healthy addition to juice! Peach pits, cherry pits, and apricot pits are also to be avoided. I don't go overboard, but just avoid putting most seeds in that one would not normally eat. Better to be safe than sorry. And careful about tossing in the peel. Go organic and scrub scrub scrub if you're consuming the peel, because PEEL is what absorbs pesticides. Plus peel (like orange peel) tastes vile. Just test one tiny section, find out for yourself. Some things, like carrots can do double duty. Sure, drink the juice, but you can also make carrot muffins, or use the fiber in carrot cake. But you can't go overboard with the fiber. You'll learn. My first attempts to make use of the fiber was in a soup, and the fiber turned into a giant sponge! A cup or two of assorted veggie fiber sucked up several cups of soup. The only caution I have is that you should pay attention where the juice cup is. The first time I used it, I knocked the cup out of the way, and lost about a tablespoon of juice because the cup wasn't there to catch it. That's not a leak-it's just being klutzy. It's a small cup. If you fill it a couple of times, you might want to dump the fiber container too, but it is plenty big enough that I haven't had to do that yet, even while I've been trying to perfect my own v-8. Whether or not you try one of those trendy fasts, it's really a great way to bring variety into the diet. I am SO impressed.

Brand-new juicer here! I love fruits and vegetables and they are crucial for health, but because of my IBS I can't consume as much as I would like. After some research I decided to try juicing as a way to get the nutrients I need in an easier-to-digest way. This juicer got great reviews and was reasonably priced so I decided to give it a try and am so happy I did! Pros: 1. Simple to assemble: you just put the pieces together and everything locks together with a couple of latches. Easy peasy lemon-squeezy! 2. Extracts a lot of juice: this little machine does its job...I can't believe how much juice these veggies actually contain (especially carrots, cucumbers, and romaine lettuce)! And the leftover pulp is nice and fine so it can be incorporated into protein-heavy recipes like meatloaf or meatballs to add a dose of fiber and nutrients without altering the taste or texture of the dish. 3. Comes with a juice container that has the perfect size pour spout that doesn't spill the juice everywhere (I make big batches of juice to freeze, so this makes it way easier to pour it into the ice trays). 4. Is super easy to use: I thought juicing would be much more difficult, but you just wash the veggies and cut them into a small enough size to fit through the veggie chute and that's it. 5. Easy to clean: disassembles easily. It says the pieces are top rack dishwasher safe, but TBH I find it easier to hand wash everything. 6. Affordable: I've never juiced before and didn't want to break the bank buying some boujee juicer when I wasn't even sure that juicing was something I'd be able to stick with. This one had a great price point, especially for a name brand appliance. I thought I'd use this one a few times and "upgrade" later if I liked juicing. But TBH this one does everything I want so upgrading is completely unnecessary. Cons: 1. The little cutter/strainer is a little difficult to clean. I wish it came with a little cleaning brush, but it's not really a big deal. I just soak it in the sink to loosen up all the debris which makes it easier. Some reviews mention that the pulp is a little bit juicy. This is true with softer produce like tomatoes or pineapple. My easy fix is to juice these items on their own (separate from harder items like carrots or cucumbers), then take the pulp out and run it back through the juicer again. Bottom line: I really love this little juicer and can't say enough good things about it!

In an effort to life a healthier lifestyle, my spouse and I decided to cut down on boxed, processed foods, which contain ridiculous amounts of sodium, and to supplement our diet by drinking fresh juice every day. When I saw the incredible price range of juicers, I decided that I'd go with this inexpensive model because I didn't know if we'd like juicing and if it turned out we didn't like the taste or whatever, it wasn't a huge investment. I think it's a great little machine. It's quieter than I thought it would be. Reminds me of a Dustbuster sound but a little louder but it's very tolerable. It comes apart easily and should be washed and cleaned immediately after making juice. Doing this makes the particles wash right off and with no problem. I would guess that leaving it for a while will leave you with a mess to scrape. The mouth is pretty small which is a minor disappointment but it just requires that you cut the veggies into thinner pieces. I did take off one star for that because if it was just a tad bigger, a reasonable size carrot would fit in there and cutting the carrots can be a slight pain and adds to prep time. It makes a nice cup of juice and so far I haven't seen any leaking. I use a plastic gallon size sandwich bag in the pulp catcher and just lift it out and toss it when I'm done. There is still a good bit of cleaning to do of the other parts, but the chamber stays clean so that's one less thing to have to do. I have read online that some people use the pulp to make veggie burgers. I have not tried that though. I am new to juicing so some of the reviews that say the pulp is wet and should be dry is not something I worry about. If we ever get a more expensive and better juicer, maybe I will see a difference but it doesn't bother me if the pulp is damp after I'm finished. Our juice of choice is carrot/celery/cucumber and it's great. I'm thinking maybe we will upgrade to a larger juicer this summer since we'll probably be drinking more juices in the warmer weather. If you order this, make sure you buy a cheap toothbrush and use that to clean the chamber that shreds up the veggies. There is no way to just wipe it clean; you need a brush. Luckily I had a sealed packaged toothbrush when the juicer came or that first cleaning would have been very difficult. The bottom line: if you are new to juicing and want a starter machine, this is it. It does a great job and if you are only making juice for one or two people, this machine is quite sufficient for that. I use a larger cup under the spout but for a single person, the one that comes with the machine is probably fine. I really love this juicer. We may upgrade later but for now this one is just right.

I have been researching juicers for several months, as I regularly purchase fresh vegetable and fruit juices from my neighborhood health food market and truly believe in the curative powers of fresh, organic juices. I was really worried about purchasing a juicer for this price, but trusted the other customer reviews and went for it. I just received it today and could not wait to try it out. I made 4 glasses of fresh squeezed fruit and veggie juice and cannot believe how well this little juicer works! Yes, you must cut the fruits and vegetables into smaller pieces and cannot stuff an entire carrot into the juicer, but for a couple or individual who is not producing gallons of juice a day, you cannot beat this juicer for the price. I am amazed at how efficient it is. I made 2 glasses of juice with one large carrot, one apple, a piece of ginger and 2 stalks of celery. Clean up is easy. If you purchase this product, pick up a little brush or buy a new, firm toothbrush to clean the blades in between juicing. It is compact and tucks away in my pantry when not in use. I am so glad that I trusted other Amazon Customers and purchased this juicer. I am really looking forward to all of the new juice recipes that I can create. Cheers to Healthy 2013! Update: 1-25-13: Okay, We have been using this product daily since I received it. We are absolutely thrilled with our purchase. We make a quart of organic juice daily, using all sorts of fresh fruits and veggies. It takes approximately 15 minutes for the total process, washing and chopping produce, juicing, and cleaning juicer. Our favorite juice is made with 4-5 organic carrots, 1 organic apple, 1 large chunk of ginger root, 4-5 stalks organic celery, 1/2 large organic cucumber, 1 handful organic parsley, 1 organic lime (with most of peel taken off), Organic Kale (4-5 large leafs). I call this Goddess Garden Goddess Juice. It is absolutely delicious. In fact, we enjoy the juice from this Juicer more than juice from an industrial juicer at our local health food store. The pulp is small and dry, which indicates to me that the juicer is very effective. I use the pulp to create compost for my garden. Clean up is a breeze as long as you clean the blade basket right after juicing. If the pulp dries in the basket, a little more scrubbing with a brush is required. If you clean immediately after juicing it is a simple process. I use a utility brush to clean the blade basket, rinse the other parts and put them on the top shelf on my dishwasher. I would recommend this Juicer to anyone who plans on juicing 1-3 times per day. I have suggested it for several of my co-workers and friends who I shared juice with and were so impressed that they asked about the juicer and was it expensive. They were so surprised to discover it is less than $40. Highly recommended.

We've been juicing pretty seriously for about 6-months before I bought this model. It's my fault, I spoiled myself with the $300 model before I purchased this one. I needed a juicer to use in my travel trailer and at work. It is as large is it seems in the pictures, but well made, and ecstatically pleasing. First impressions after 2-days of use with only apples and oranges: The cup that comes with juicer is relatively small compared to other models, but the juicer is not. The pulp does come out somewhat wet (meaning all of the juice is not extracted). Although the cutting blade is very small, it does do a very good job. The juice itself, probably due to the size of the small cup, has very little pulp or froth in it. This is a good thing depending on your personal taste. I found it strange that more pulp is stuck in the blade area than in the actual pulp catcher. Pros: For such an small inexpensive juicer, it does do its job. Kind of like buying a small economy car; why would you expect more of it? Large pulp container, very easy to clean, and easy to assemble and disassemble. Tricks to cleaning the blade; use a brush with tooth brush like bristles. Most more expensive models come with this. I also agree with other reviewers, what needed to be included was a pulp scraper. If you are thinking of juicing or you don't juice often, this is a perfect model for you. Cons: The very tiny hole that you drop the produce into is just way too small. I mean frustratingly small! With other juicers the device has to be running in order to drop your produce in. With this model, if you do that, the inlet is so narrow and shallow that the produce simply darts back out and splats on the farthest part of your ceiling that you can never seem to reach. I personally don't mind cutting my produce up somewhat, but due to the narrowness of the inlet, I have to almost mince it. For a "quick" juice in the morning, I would not suggest this model-the preparation part is somewhat grueling compared to other models. It you have the time and patience, this is the one however. In closing, is it serving my purpose? Somewhat. Since I work in close quarters, I need a small juicer. Although it appears that way, it is no smaller than any other juicer. Aside from that, not only have I added a juicer, but now a cutting board, a knife, a knife sharpener, a scrub brush, a larger cup, etc, etc. For $30 more I could probably avoid this. Just my two cents.

I purchased this a few weeks back - and f or the price of 5 or 6 jamba juices - this is really working out. pros - - it will juice the basics. watch the youtube video for ideas. - carrots, cucumbers, pineapple, apple, peaches etc - are awesome !! the jucie is clear and the pulp is nearly dry.. - if you use carrots - for example, you can collect the pulp and mix it with yougut and get a nice protein+fiber-sugar thing. (someone else has to drink the carrot juice :)) - easy enough to clean. I never use the dish washer.. all done by hand in less than 1min - the best choice get rid of fruits that are starting to brown :) - easy enough to use.. no spillage during usage _ UNLESS the stupid collector glass moves around. - we have orange/apple and few other tree - and we have juiced all of them. cons - small, the container to collect juice is small and it gets messy as you try and swap it with a cup etc. - small length of wire to outlet - so you can use it on the dining table etc. unless you have an extension - can't run the motor long - it smells funny.. BUT hey you got this to make 1 or 2 cups of stuff - so, you have that. - it is a little hard to pull the top (sliver filter) to clean.. so you have pull. it will be awkward if you don't have wide palms to hold and pull - and almost always - when I pull the filter - there is spillage. - the pulp doesn't always go into the container - some is stuck in the top. - I wish it came with a tub to collect the juice as opposed to a small cup on the side. easyly knocked if you have kids juicing - which they will. finally - easily the easiest buy of the juicer community. I don't it will last to hand off to your kids - but think about it - if you want to get on a juicing program for 30 days - or 20 day or a week - what ever - this is the best option. I now juice once or twice a month - so I feel I have gotten my money back from not spending at Jamba. also now - if a fruit is not popular at home - it goes into this - with an apple or carrot and viola .... awesomeness. Buy it..

I read a lot of reviews on this little guy. There are so many of them. I noticed that it had (forgive me, I don't remember exactly) over 4 stars. So despite some of the negative reviews, I went ahead and ordered it. After all, I told myself that it only had to last 7 days, through my 7 day cleans. The price for this juice extractor + organic fruit and veggies was less the buying a 7 day supply of juice (for the purpose of a cleans) from whole foods. I've had it for 3 weeks now and am in love with it still. I did the hard core juice fast and will admit that the opening for putting the veggies and fruit through IS a little small. Not a problem for me. I just cut the fruit to the appropriate size. And also, it is not enjoyable to clean. But any juicer would have that problem. If you have a dishwasher then I think you could skip that as a problem all together. I used it 4 or 5 times a day for the first 5 days, and 2-4 times for the next few days. I still use it. I've moved on to smoothies now, but still use the juicer to juice my orange and pineapple. I add it to my strawberry, blueberry, banana, spinach smoothies. I didn't think I would like juicing this much, and I didn't think this little juicer would do as good a job as it has. I guess every one has different standards. And if you are willing/able to pay much more then you could get a bump up in quality. For me, I don't need anything more, and am beyond pleased with this product. Not all the pulp is dry as a bone, some of it is. It depends on what you are juicing. Things that didn't work out so well: pears and watermelon. Lots of juice from the watermelon, but the pulp was dripping wet, and pears...maybe it was just my pears, but they didn't really juice, as much as foamy pulp like stuff instead of juice. Carrots, celery, garlic, tomatoes, apples, oranges...basically everything I put through this thing, it could handle and deliver. Leaves were tricky at first. Like basil and spinach but I put a bunch though in between what ever else I was juicing. (like a carrot or tomato, or celery) and it solved the problem. I recommend this any one basically. Sure, if you have more money, then go ahead and spend it. You may have a slightly more convenient experience, but I doubt your finished product will be any better.

I've been using this juicer now for 5 days and have formed a pretty solid opinion of it. I was a little leery of purchasing such an inexpensive juicer since my only previous experience was with a big honker Breville Juice Fountain which is a real beast. But this little guy is impressing me. Now bear in mind that this guy cost me about 20% of what my Breville did 15 years ago, my expectations were lowered accordingly. But I have been pleasantly surprised by how well this compact juicer works. Of course as has been noted in almost every review, the feed chute is pretty small - tiny if you're used to one like the Breville that will take a small apple whole. But once you get used to chopping things into reasonable size before juicing, it works at about 90% of the efficiency of the Breville. Taking into consideration the less powerful motor, I feed harder veggies like carrots and sweet potatoes pretty slowly, but as far as how much juice is extracted it holds its own. It is less efficient on softer fruits and veggies like cucumber or citrus since there is no speed adjustment and it chews through them perhaps too quickly, but again it works pretty darn well for the price. Yes, it does tend to have a little bit of an odor like the motor is being over-taxed when juicing hard veggies but so far it hasn't caused a failure or slowdown in performance. I hope it's not an indication that the motor just isn't up to the task, but if it lasts me a year juicing once or twice a day I think I will have gotten my money's worth. So if you don't mind spending an extra 5 minutes or so chopping things into smaller pieces (the chute is u-shaped, like smile, and is about 2-3 cm wide and about 5-6 cm across) it does the job pretty well. As far as cleaning, it is very comparable to the Breville (the basic design is very similar). Just plan on spending about 5-10 minutes cleaning everything off after every use (and half of that is scrubbing the extractor with a toothbrush to get everything out of the strainer). If you're on the fence about getting into juicing and looking for an inexpensive way to get started, I think the Black & Decker JE2200B is a solid choice - you can always pick up a new or used Breville later if you find you really like it and/or you're doing a LOT more juicing than the average person. And if you're in a REAL hurry to get started or just want to check one out in person, I found that my local Wal-Mart has them on the shelf so you might check that out (but you will pay a little more vs. Amazon). Added October 7th: I have been using this juicer once or twice a day now for almost a month and my opinion hasn't changed much. The initial smell when juicing went away after about the second week which leads me to believe it was some kind of extra lubricant in the motor that was burning off. Didn't ever effect the taste of the juice, it just smelled like the motor was burning up but obviously that wasn't the case as it still works good. As others have noted, there is some discoloration to the black plastic bits that regularly come into contact with the juice, especially under the juicing blades/strainer part (the part that spins). This also happened on my other juicer and I think it is due to staining from the veggies like beets, carrots and sweet potatoes that have a lot of color in their juice. Another issue that some reviewers have noted is that the basket seems to get a little "unbalanced" over time and shakes the juicer around a bit (and make a loud noise) as it is slowing down after you shut it off. Again, it hasn't seemed to effect performance and it is not hitting the sides of the juicing piece so I'm not too concerned, just hang onto it as it's stopping. So far it has served me well considering the use it has seen and hopefully it will last me until I either get bored of juicing or step up to a larger, more powerful machine. At this stage I would still recommend it to anyone wanting to try out juicing without making a huge initial investment (save your money for your fruits and veggies and a good knife).

Do not buy this!!! I have this product and using it in US and works perfectly well. I bought if for $30 (Approx 1900 rupees) . In India it costs approximately 5000 rupees and on top of that they only provide a 110 V as in US which cannot be used in India without a converter adn a good step down converter costs about another Rs 3000. Not worth spending a total of 8000 on this. Even though the product is good, it is not worth it if they do not sell a modified version of this suitable for Indian voltage

The juicer irks as expected, however taking it apart is very hard when it comes to removing the strainer. It takes vigorous shaking for the strainer to come off, which makes the process messy. I was even considering returning it, but then thought better of the hustle. Maybe strainer will become easier to take off after some use, but currently it certainly does not come off as per the instructions to the juicier.

I was wary about buying this because of the reviews, but I figured the price point was good for a starter juicer. It's compact and stores easily, comes apart and assembles like a breeze (and if you don't know what to do the instructions are very straight forward). It juices very well, and if you want to get a bit more juice from the left over pulp, I simply took the pulp and put it right back through! It worked for me 🙂. Not to mention it's SO fun!
