Fabulous book as an A&E nurse transferring into a new specialty. Everything is evidence based!

This is a comprehensive guide for anyone moving into or starting a career in cancer nursing. It would also be of some use to anyone who works with cancer patients or knows someone who is going through cancer treatment.I nursed my mum through her 5th and final bout with cancer. Cancer treatment can be a long and confusing process full of long words and worrying chemicals that you have no idea how they will affect you. You arnt sure if its ok to ask if you will even survive. This book details all the procedures a cancer patient is likely to need. It also goes into why a procedure is needed and what its for/what the outcome is expected to be.The book has long lists of references if you want to go into a topic further or read how a particular procedure was developed. I love that the book can back up all its facts with research papers.The book is well written and laid out. Its easy to understand and includes pictures and tables where necessary. I have a degree in medical microbiology so im not entirely a lay person but still i found that im able to understand this book.There is a comprehensive index at the end of this book, i cant abide books without an index! there is also a list of abbreviations and a detailed contents section.
