No they don't, I have long thick hair.

I have burly bands, but I have to loop them 3 times. With these bands I only loop 2 times and they do not slip! These ones are a little stiffer where the burly bands are softer. I use them both,

My husband has really thick hair and its down to about the top of his shoulder blades when its down and he uses them for his man bun. He says they hold up well and don't stretch out.
