## Description

Aqua-Tech makes aquarium maintenance simple and easy. Aqua-Tech Filter Systems take the guesswork out of changing your filter cartridge. Since all Aqua-Tech EZ-Change Aquarium Filter Replacement Cartridges come pre assembled with Aqua-Tech Premium Activated Carbon, there are no messy carbon pouches to deal with. Just remove the old filter cartridge and place a new one in the filter. No-messy assembly required! Aqua-Tech filter cartridges feature a 3-stage filtration system. As part of this system, these filter cartridges are packed with activated carbon. This carbon works fast at removing odors, discoloration and impurities. Over time, the carbon deactivates and must be replaced. The Aqua-Tech EZ-Change Aquarium Filter Replacements come in a variety of sizes including 5-15 gallon filters, 20-40/30-60 gallon filters, and 10-20 filters. This allows aquarium enthusiasts of any size tank to enjoy an aquarium that is free from odor, discoloration and impurities! These filters are designed specifically for Aqua-Tech 20-40 and 30-60 Power Filters. For best results, it is recommended that you change your Aqua-Tech Filter monthly.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this size compatable with the Rite size brand, E**
A: I really can't tell you. I use size "2"

**Q: Why does my second box of filters have little bits of carbon spilling everywhere?**
A: Because the smaller bits of carbon come out through the slots in the plastic backing that holds it in. I've used these replacement filters for my 10 gallon aquarium for almost 20 years and all the boxes have small carbon bits in them. In fact, I shake new filters carbon side down over a trash can to get all the little tiny pieces out so they don't wind up in the aquarium and building up over time. My practice is shake them for about 5 seconds, then rinse under a faucet carbon side down before I start on a filter cleaning and set aside on the sink to drain. I pour about 1 quart of old aquarium water over them right before installing to rinse out any chlorine from the faucet rinse.

**Q: Are these similar in size to cartridges size E?**
A: No, they are smaller than Cartridges size E. Size E is for 20-40 gallon tanks, these are for 5-15 gallon tanks. I hope that helps :)

**Q: Will these cartridges fit in a Top Fin 75 filter unit?**
A: No, Terrence, we don't think it will fit, although we have not researched using this cartridge with that filter. The cartridge your filter takes appears to be a very slightly taller, narrower one.

My filter system is a aquatec 30-60. When you buy the filters of the same brand you can be assured that they will fit properly and that they will properly filter your aquarium water. The problem with comparable products from my experience is they seem to have some sort of little quirk that causes them to not do the same job as a brand name. The filters in my aquarium are good for about a month before I have to change them, alot of this is going to depend on how many fish you have and how much you feed them. I always purchase a 6 pack of filters so they are on hand when it is time to change them and reorder when I use the last filters in the package. I am not going to kid you as you can if you want get them for a little less money from a big box store. I myself buy alot of items from amazon, Why? Because sometimes it is cheaper and there are other times when a item is a little bit more. But stop and think about it by the time you figure in your gas and time interacting with the big box store you are paying close to the same price, lets face it gas is not cheeap these days and your time has become a commodity. You also need to remember there are several different delivery options available to needing the item right away or in a few days which usually results in free shipping. I am satisfied with the product and the job it does, the cost is usually competative when I figure in the aforementioned factors and I am always ready for the next filter change.
