C.S. Osborne and Co. No. 1014 - Zipper Jig (MPN# 64506)

I like to sew bags and pouches, so zippers just come with the territory. I’ve wanted to start buying the zipper bu the yard as I have some projects where the pre sized nylon zippers just seem wasteful. So I ordered some zipper by the yard and this. Holy guacamole is this a game changer! I first saw this on Lauren Mormino’s youtube channel which is amazing. If you’re curious how it works or what placement check out her videos. As for the comment about this not being as good of quality as it once was I disagree. It is extremely sturdy and well made sure you could use a bent fork and save money. I like my forks and want to eat with them so I bought this. I will say I tried to order this off etsy first and it was canceled as they didn’t have any left. I’ve also seen it on ebay. It ranges in price from $40 to $75 with shipping included in that price. I paid on the lower end so do your research. Highly recommend this product and see it lasting me the rest of my lifetime.

For a long time I was putting zipper pulls on by hand with no tool. I know people have used forks but I couldn't get used to that. I needed to adjust the prongs on the jig and it works well. Also, learned that, once I separate the coils, they needed to be placed at a severe angle as they go into the tunnels. Once I figured that out, it was much easier to put on the zipper pulls.

Well, my learning curve is a bit slower than most...so take this review into consideration. I spent 20-30 minutes trying to figure it out. It did come with instructions, but I was forcing it too much I believe. Pay attention to direction of zipper and which end your inserting zipper into.All and all, sooooo much better than before. I spent too much time trying to perform this task and now it is easy!

This is amazing. It saves me so much time. All the others I've tried are a struggle and take me forever, this is just bam your done. Love it. If you use zipper tape, you need this in your life, trust me!

It's heavy duty but one of the prongs is bent. I don't know if it is made like this or it has a defect.

Might work well for YKK zippers, but doesn't fit the Riri pulls that I use, even with adjusting the tines. The bench clamp also doesn't have a very tall throat, so I can't attach it to my bench. Would work fine on thin tables but if you have a nice solid benchtop, it likely won't fit.

This makes creating your custom zippers a breeze. I highly recommend it
