6 AWG is the limit
Delivered on time and in good condition. This was my first ferrule crimp tool. Great experience. Great tool to have. Works great on MC4 as well. 6 AWG conductors are difficult to crimp with these but possible. You absolutely will not fit anything larger which is how it is advertised. Also fits the smallest ferrule I could find and solid connection there as well. I honestly don’t know why square vs hex but I stand by these

Works good for 6 awg or smaller
A little hard to use. Getting old I guess. Wish handles were a bit longer for move leverage.

OK but not suitable for ground wire ferrules
This is a nice enough tool if used for small, light gauge terminals and ferrules. I bought it because the aperture is large enough to accommodate standard Gardner Bender ground wire ferrules. Unfortunately, the tool lacks the strength and leverage to crimp them.
