This aluminum box is constructed in 4 pieces providing for easy access as you are building your project. There are two flat rectangular end pieces and two L-shaped pieces that serve as a side/top and side/bottom and interlock with each other; they are held in place using 4 screws in each of the two end pieces. The aluminum material is easy to work with. I was able to make rectangular cutouts in the edges of the flat end pieces using a simple nipper tool. The aluminum material provides good shielding for sensitive electronic circuits and serves as a good heat sink for power devices. I really likes the open access for working on my project; it is much better than a rectangular box with a removable cover!

I bought the box, started assembly and found that one small wall (sidewall) was missing. I checked the package twice, didn't find it and sent a letter to the seller asking to send me that missing part. In the meantime I decided to buy another one, just in case, because I did like how well it was made. When opening the second package I first checked if it had 2 sidewalls. When I saw them, I realized that they are thin and stuck together and that when assembling the first box I simply attached both sidewalls to one side of the box. So, now I have 2 good boxes.

I made an enclosure for some wires attaching to a 12 V power supply, and this worked for what I wanted. maybe a little hard to attach the cover, but no real complaints. Could possible give it a 5 also.

Real nice project box for simple electronic functions. I used mine to build an RF-tight remote SDR pre-amp bypass switch. Works real nice......just don't over-torque the screws, aluminum is soft and will strip out.

I used this to house a Buck Convertor (DC to DC). It worked great. I like the way it comes apart into 2 L shaped sections, at least for this project. Great overall quality, good price.
