Very low quality
This review is strictly about the book quality and not at all about content. So I just received this today - how is it the most expensive book of hers (I paid $45) is the absolute lowest in quality? The cover is flimsy like construction paper and the pages look to be printed on low end paper on a home printer. Surely after all these years (and complaints) the reprinting would be of higher quality, especially at this price!Hopefully Shaye reads these comments from time to time and would have a say in quality control or something? I took a chance and ordered it because I appreciate her and her content so wanted to support her - but this one is just bad.

Its a goodie
The better one... If you're on the fence over which book to pick from this author, take this one. Down to earth recipes with ingredients easily sourced.

Tasty recipes!
After watching some of Shaye's YouTube videos, I decided to buy her cookbook. My husband has made several of her recipes: red lentil soup (incredible), chicken stock (several times), and chicken soup (who would have thought turmeric would be such a great touch?!). The potato and sausage soup is on the menu for tonight. I've made the sourdough starter and tried my hand at the sourdough crackers and bread. Love the simplicity of the recipes. I'm generally pretty picky about the cookbooks I buy, and this one was a great fit for our family. Thanks!

Must have! Everything you’d hoped it would be and more.
I can’t even remember how I came across her YouTube channel, but I’m so thankful I did! The recipes in this cookbook are amazing! I haven’t made a single one that any of us has disliked. (I even got my picky son in law to eat avocado without him knowing) Simple whole ingredients that make the most flavorful and delicious foods I’ve ever had! The hardest part is spending the money to fill the pantry with the staple items. It’s expensive to switch over to whole ingredients, but so worth it. She’s descriptive and complete. The only thing I would change is that… you can tell she’s been cooking these things a while. When she gives steps, I sometimes have questions on what it means or how to do something and I have to look it up or learn by trial and error. This cookbook is a must have! It’s truly the only one you’ll ever need.
