Precisely what I was hoping for.
If you're looking for "how to" bowyer books, this isn't it. But if you're looking at this book, you're most likely already familiar with Mr. Hamm's (and other authors) other books on that topic. This book gives clear, concise, hand drawn illustrations (very well done), measurements and details of bows, quivers and arrows, broken down by area, spread across Western North America. No fluff, no filler. Just page after page of the archery equipment of the people of specific regions. If you're a bowyer, fletcher or leatherworker, and/or just have an interest in Indigenous artifacts... this is the book to own. Eagerly awaiting the second volume now.I wish there was a volume for the far north and northwest, though.

I recommend it to everybody interested in bow making and culture of native Americans.

Excellent Information
I wish that I had owned this fine book when I was in my 20s and just getting into archery. Better late than never though. Well worth the money.
