A jug and plastic filter are included in the box but you will need to purchase paper filters as the plastic one provided is just to hold the paper ones. Hope this makes sense and helps.

are there 2 x hotplates on this machine. (i.e. one on top and one at base, that the coffee pours into?

There are x2 hotplates to sit x 2 coffee jugs on. Only one can be poured at a time.

what temperature does the hotplate keep the coffee at? how long does the hot plate stay on for?

The coffee can be kept at around 65~70℃ if you don’t turn off the keep warm function . The keep warm function won’t turn off automatically as it is controlled by switch.
