Will these fit over my uggs?
Can these work with those toe running shoes or just a standard running shoe?
What do these feel like for short patches of asphalt? The pro model feels fine to me but they don't have spikes. Do the spikes "clatter" or feel weird
What shoe size is the medium? I want to get them for my father in law as a gift. He wears a size 10.

Enables Reliable Ice Running at Speed

I purchased the Extra Large for my size 13 running shoe, and they barely fit. I had to give them a good yank/pull to get them around my running shoes. So I suggest buying at least one size higher than the chart suggests as I did. My review today is based on a ten mile run I performed yesterday after a snowfall a few days earlier. My run took place, mostly on asphalt and concrete. I started the run not knowing what I would get, so I wore the YakTrax just to make sure if/when I hit icy patches I wouldn't slip. At my age, I just can't take a fall, and I don't want to injure myself. More to the point, I want to run happy and confident, even on ice.So they worked very well. My running gate with them on was normal and easy. I even forgot I was wearing them after the first few minutes. I would say that 90% of my run was on bare concrete and asphalt, because it turned out the sun had cleaned up most of the snow before folks had packed it down. So I really gave the little spikes a hard workout.First, the YakTrax overlays did not fall off. Hooking up the toe strap and securing the velcro strap did the trick. Second, the carbide steel spikes show relatively little wear after ten miles of brutal running on the hard stuff. I imagine that if the conditions had been the other way around and I ran on 90% ice and 10% hard surface, there would be no visible wear on the spikes whatsoever. The wire coils on the rear look great too, although I am not a heel striker.I look forward to wearing the YakTrax again the next time I want to go out for a run and I'm looking at icy conditions. They have earned my confidence on ice. There were only two drawbacks. First, about nine miles into my run, I began to notice my left little toe rubbing on the inside of my Hoka AT Challenger 5s. I was initially concerned that my shoes were too small, but that didn't make sense since I've worn these for more than a year! Then I remembered I was wearing the YakTrax. Recall that even the extra large are tight on my size 13 foot. So I stopped and took off the YakTrax and the pain went away. So the next time I wear them, and I'm looking at a run of more than 8 miles, I will see if I can adjust the fit so that there is less impact to the soft sidewalls on the outside of my Hokas. Recommendation to the manufacturer: Please offer an XX Large. I'd probably buy that for my size 13, which would be sizing up TWO LEVELS vs. the size chart.Second, as I said, the carbon steel spikes were stellar, and very little wear after my run. But one tiny spike, on the left Yaktrak was smashed over on its side within it's plastic support base. The metal didn't give way, but the plastic disc supporting the spike gave way, and the metal did a "leaning tower of Pisa" slanting over to one side. I weigh 195 lbs, so I probably gave that spike a massive lateral force while running on raw concrete/asphalt. Even in its bent over position, the spike is still giving me anti-slip capability, so at the moment I'm not worried. So, overall, I had a good experience.

Loved it

Bought two sets to use for a race that was in snow and some ice. Wasn't sure at first to use them because we didn't see many fellow runners had them on for race day. But we decided to use them after all, and the traction cleats worked out perfectly. No one fell, especially going up and down hills. The traction cleats worked out perfectly--best decision to buy them for running. The cleats were easy to use (bought size small for shoe sizes 8 and 9). I'm thankful that delivery was next day and used them the day after. Thank you, Amazon!

They’re good but have limitations

I really have no complaints about this product. I more want people to realize the limitation it has if you encounter a lot of bare pavement on your runs.As far as running on ice or in snow, they did really well and I felt 100% safe doing so. But I wore out the springs on the heals on my third time using them. Only around 20 miles total. My runs consist of running on icy sidewalks and trails with crossing streets and short durations out on the road so they wore out fast. The spikes on the other hand look brand new. Too bad there’s no way of creating tungsten carbide coils.

Great Traction on Snow and Ice! Easy to put on!

I love these new YakTrax for running on snowy and icy trails! They also fit well with adjustable Velcro straps so that I can wear my regular running shoes. I actually look forward to running in the winter conditions now because I am training for the Antarctica Marathon. I plan to use these YakTrax in Antarctica no matter what Mother Nature weather throws at me.Thea’s are also useful and easy to put quickly on for snow blowing and taking the trash can to the street. I have confidence that I won’t slip and injure myself before my Antarctica Marathon on March 25, 2024!

Torn up boxes

I bought these twice. Both times they came in torn up boxes. They are a gift for someone, they shouldn’t be in torn up boxes if they’re new.

Your path to snow-running joy

I cannot recommend these highly enough if you live in a snowy place and love running outside. I've owned these since 2020, and I just bought a pair for another family member. I use these on my shoes for running on snowy sidewalks and in the woods when the ground is snow-covered and even icy. I run about three times a week all winter. I've never slipped, and they're still in great shape. I do try to avoid/minimize running on paved surfaces that are not snow-covered. If you live in a snowy climate and want to get outside all winter safely, I would totally recommend these.

These work great for winter running ..... while they last

These add a great amount of traction for snow and icy conditions and they are very lightweight and easy to put on/off.The spikes wear down or get bent pretty easily though, which basically negates the entire purpose of them. They USED to make replacement spike inserts but you cant get those anymore. So now you have to buy an entirely new pair (sometimes multiple over the course of a single winter season) every time one nub bends, wears down, or falls out. Making these entirely too expensive for what they are. When they're intact, they're great, but they aren't durable enough to warrant the high cost.If they start making the replacement spikes again (which I'm assuming they wont because it seems like a money grab to make you buy the whole thing again), it would be worth it.

Well worth it!

Today I received my first set of YakTrax, so I strapped them on and went out for a run on the ice covered dirt roads in my neighborhood. Wow! Why did I wait so long to order a pair? I always thought they would feel clunky, but no! I run in Brooks Ghost 15, women's size 8.5, medium width. The size small YakTrax were a snug fit and felt secure on my feet.
