I do not think it is. It is very good for the teeth, but I also think you should brush. That is my opinion.

Yes, unfortunately, they are the new kind and they do say that.

What is the difference in the "white" and the "non-white"?

I believe the white has teeth whitening properties, my teeth are whiter after chewing it for a while compared to other gums

How long do they stay fresh for? (Only 1 person would be using these so it will take a while to go though)

I'm not sure how long they would stay fresh but they were "very" fresh when they arrived. I ordered mine in Sept 2014 and it says best used by July 07, 2015. Since it is just for one, you could put them in a zip-lock bag or an air-tight container and they will stay fresher even longer. Zip-locks are awesome!
