I will admit - this is the nicest cutting board I've ever owned and will likely grow to really like it. If I could, I'd give it 3.5 stars. My grievances are small. However, there were my first impression. And I can't help but feeling like I greatly overpaid for it at $74.For starters, upon opening, it looked small. I deliberated on line between one that was 19.5" by 15" and this one which was 20" by 15". Upon pulling out my tape measure, I found that it was not 20 inches but 19.5. Usually these types of mistakes are the result of posting the product listing incorrectly. But as you'll see from the attached photo, the product label listed as 20 inches. Come on folks, if you're marketing a high-end cutting board, at least get your measurements right. It's a lousy 1/2", I'll survive, but it sets a bad tone.Next, I noticed a bad smell - partly like fish, partly like medicine. Mmmm mmmm. Regardless, I always wash all new dishware so I washed this with warm soapy water. Unfortunately the smell didn't go away. But again, I'm sure it will eventually so this will be a minor issue in the long run.As for the positives, the weight and sturdiness are great, not too light but not overly bulky. It has a very solid feel to it. My knives finished their cuts nicely on it. It also washes up nicely and drys off quickly, both very nice features.All in all, it's a good board I believe. Time will tell but it has the look of a quality product.
