Alpine Hearing Protection Earplugs (Transparent)

What is this?..I thought it wasn't supposed to sound like all muffed and my own voice sounding loud to me(extermely muffed)..can hear the outer sounds but I purchased it for tinnitus and it just blocks soo much sound my tinnitus loudness is clearly heard in it so they r preety useless to me. The filter thing looks a sham. Never buying such things ever again.what a fooking joke.

Great product! I've been testing the silver earplugs during multiple loud techno concerts, and they delivered their promise. My ears survived the nights, and I didn't experience any tinnitus whatsoever. What's best about them is that they don't muffle the music too much, I mainly noticed the differences with the bass/kick which feels less harsh and loud, while you can still hear the rest of the frequencies, overall as if the volume was just slightly turned down. I wouldn't claim that my listening experience was degraded, also because you quickly get used to the level of sound you get through the earplugs. If you attend loud music events where the speakers can easily go above the bar, do yourself a favor and buy these earplugs. Your ears will thank you later! They feel comfortable, don't slip off, and if you're paranoid that you may lose them, you can still rely on the cord that keeps them in pairs and can be kept around your neck. Some may think this is a bit unesthetic, depending on the circumstance, but I didn't think so and still wore them the first times just for extra safety. I haven't tested the other earplugs yet, but so far it felt like the mid ones are already reducing the dBs enough to prevent damage. Bonus: I also appreciated the tiny case you get with the product, which can easily fit in a pocket and you can carry around.

Overall I think these earplugs are great, but the highest reduction filter (gold) makes high frequency very muddy and quiet. I would recommend using the silver filters for any live music. I have used these over 3 types of events: metal, rock, and EDM/techno. For very loud music, the gold filter is very muddy and muffled with most vocals and guitars. So much so that I find it hard to enjoy the music with the gold filter. The silver filters work the best in my opinion. EDM/techno sounded great and I didn't notice any loss in mids or highs. I did notice a reduction in mids and highs a little with metal and rock, but not nearly as bad as the gold filters. The volume is also pretty much perfect at 18db NRR, where it is loud but not so much that I was worried about hearing damage at any point over 4 hours of constant music thumping. I've never used the white filters for any live music, so I can't say much about them. The case included with the pros have space for the extra filters though, so you'll always have them if you need them for something. I think these are the best at their price point, especially with the case and other accessories. Loop Experience 2 have a rating of 17db, and I think these have good enough sound quality with an NRR of 18db (silver filters) that these could be a good alternative for cheaper. Given the perceived volume with an NRR at 18db, I might be concerned about hearing damage at anything much lower over extended periods of time. In general, I would stick to an earplug with an NRR of at least 16db for most live music. The only brand I know of that has better highs and mids would be eargasm. They are double the price on Amazon at the time of the review though, so unless you're willing to spend that, I would recommend these.
