Works but needs modifications
Iโve had this exact style oil catch pan for many years and recently it broke on me due to human error. I decided to buy another one just like it online for convenience. Before purchasing this one, I read the reviews and discovered that the drain hole in the center was too small and needed to be increased as to not let the oil overspill. Upon receiving the item, the center hole was indeed too small and so I drilled out the center to allow more flow of oil. First oil change I did worked well just like Iโm used to and Iโm able to drain the oil out without any problems. I recommend to drill out the center to 1/2 inch. I drilled up to a 3/8 inch and oil didnโt drain out as fast as I liked it to. Luckily the oil was cold and so it didnโt drain out of the car fast but if you plan on draining oil that is warmer, I recommend a 1/2 inch hole.

Simple, Durable Drain Pan That Gets the Job Done
Iโve used a lot of drain pans over the years, and this one does exactly what itโs supposed to do. The 15-quart capacity is plenty for most oil changes, even on larger vehicles, so youโre not worrying about overflow halfway through the job. The pan is lightweight but still sturdy, and the wide design with built-in handles makes it easy to move around even when itโs full. The integrated spout is also helpful for pouring used oil back into containers without making a mess. What I like most is that itโs just a simple, practical toolโno gimmicks. Itโs big enough to catch everything, easy to clean, and the plastic construction holds up well to oil, coolant, and other fluids. If youโre doing your own maintenance, this is a solid, inexpensive drain pan that works exactly the way it should.

Poor quality
I have been using this type of drain pan for many years. This is my third. I had to order a new one because the conical shaped plug in the center of my old one got mis-placed. But they have moved the manufacturing to China and the quality control is very lacking. The new one's lid on the end of the spout is warped and does not seal. So when I drained the 15 qts from my truck, and the pan was full, oil leaked out of the end of the spout (that is when I discovered the cap did not seal). I contacted Dorman about the problem. They do not have the lid and offered nothing that would solve the problem. They said I would have to deal with whoever I purchased it from. So I would have to try and return a used oil pan back to Amazon. That is not something I want to deal with. So I would not recommend buying this drain pan since Dorman doesn't want to stand by their product.

Seems well made, butโฆ
Iโve had a similar drain pan made by Blitz for about 20 years that is still going strong. I bought this one as a gift for my brother that is starting to get into dirt bikes and needed some routine maintenance things. The pan seems well made, however the middle hole in the top where the oil drains into the pan narrows down to an extremely small size. Oil would definitely overwhelm that drain and probably spill over quickly. I ended up drilling out the hole so that it was a little bigger which should help a lot. Other than that it seems like a good pan that should last a long time.

Oil drain pan
A must for the garage. Long lasting item. Previously owned this product but lost the caps. Can do about 10-12 quarts of used oil

Inlet hole too small! Beware.
This was exactly what I needed a drain pan to do multiple vehicles before needed emptying. 1st oil change 4.7 qts... Humm drain area filling up too quick oil not falling into the reservoir (vent was open). Ok held the drain plug up to pan to let things catch up no problem. 2nd oil draining 7.7qts .. I took the cap of the emptying spout so the reservoir can displace the air better. No Bueno. Pan overflowed. Dammit. I did the Same thing put the drain plug back into the truck oil pan to let drain pan catch up.. so really looked this thing over and The inlet into the reservoir is only 3/16" so drilled it out to 7/16" should be good now or so I'm thinking. Dorman has been around the automotive business forever they should know better.. idk if my pan slipped through the stringent china quality control or they all have a tiny inlet holes. Check yours out before your under the vehicle. Other than that it's built well and pretty easy to dump and has a cap to put on the inlet and dump spout which is nice. It's worth the 20 couple dollars.

Drill out
Great drain pan. Just need to drill out the drain hole a little bigger for faster draining.

Gagan Auto sells these but sends a green oil pan that cannot act as the oil container
Dorman makes good parts and probably good oil pans. Unfortunately I paid for this Dorman oil pan that can act as a sealed container for the oil but rec'd a green oil pan that is just a drain pan that is just like an enlarged pot. Despite their error I somehow had to pay shipping to send it back - $40 to ship from Vancouver Island to Gagan auto in Ontario to get a net $17 return. So buying this cost me time and wasted $40.
