Nice easy going book to read.. I enjoy all of her books. They are easy fat reading books that I download now on my iPad when I go some where . I would recommend this book for readers. They books will take about 7 to 8 hrs to read. Enjoy reading them. !!

I loved the book because through the ballerina life I learned how much devotion is given to be a success in the world of Prima ballerina

Wonderful book amazing to know about such harsh times and people that were so strong and still had the love the strength to overcome things.

Good reading again the history of the Russian Imperial Family. Russian ballet has always amazed me. This book describes what great sacrifice people make although sad that the younger generation oft time forget about their grandparents.

I read this for book group. Figured that I should read at least ONE Danielle Steele, seeing as she is so popular. Well, it does prove that you can re-word the same sentences 20-30 times and there are people who will keep reading. "She worked hard. She worked VERY hard. How hard she worked!" "She had never really gotten to know Granny Dan. No, she hadn't. All those years, and she didn't know her. She thought she was just an old lady. My, how she wished she had known Granny Dan."This woman takes up with a married doctor in the early 1900s and apparently neither can figure out that this causes babies. Oh, but "they were careful." In 1910? HOW? But not to worry, her life is saved with a blood transfusion. Must have gone forward in time to after WWII, when Karl Landsteiner perfected the technique. Ah, well, back to working very hard. Until it's time for another retrospect where the granddaughter explains again to the reader that she never really knew Granny Dan.This is a four-martini beach read. As in, if you're completely blasted and still trying to follow a plot, Ms. Steele will make sure you didn't miss it.

I was recommended this book by my mum who had also read and enjoyed it. It is so easy to forget that older people were once young, found love and have endured the heartache that is commonly known as "life". A compelling read from start to finish. Now what other Danielle Steele novel to read, I am smitten.

I have put my hanky away, it really was a lovely book to read even though it was so sad.

Good story. Couldn't put it down. An enjoyable read.

This was an amazing story, you just keep imagining fairytale palaces and another life. A really beautiful story well told.
