Creative Hobbies Lamp Kit for Liquor Bottles, Wine Bottles - Includes All Adapters, Socket, Cord and Harp (Black)

This kit is an easy to assemble low cost lamp kit that fits well on the bottles I had. It took very little time to install. I ran the cord through the bottle and out a 3/8 in hole I drilled using my drill press on the side of the bottle near the bottom of the bottle. I didn’t want to run the cord out of the lamp outside of the bottle. I used a small Glass cutting diamond hole saw drill bit to drill the hole. You can pick those up at Lowe’s or order them from Amazon. I also picked up some rubber grommets at Lowe’s as well to protect the cord against the hole edges. I then filled the bottle with sandblaster grit. I had to add a bit of glue at the cord exit grommet location to keep the sand from coming out. The grit I used was quite small and was coming out around the edges of the grommet hole without the glue . I used glue but you could use RTV or any flexible chalk material if you weee to fill it with sand or something small. The bottle I used was from some fine Whiskey I bought at a local Distillery here in NC. ( Defiant Whisky) - Highly recommend this whiskey. They’ve won some National awards for their products. No real cons in Particular in the kit. It would be nice if the kit had a glass hole saw bit and or a couple small grommets. However, I do understand why they didn’t include them. The glass cutting drill saw bits were more expensive than the kit!!! I think I paid $15 at Lowe’s for the glass Cutting bits where the lamp kit here was only $12.95. The grommets were $2 or so. I liked the kit so much, I bought three more.

Loved having the option of not drilling into the bottle. The rubber bottle inserts(?) were a little too big for my project, had to shave it down a bit, but ended up exactly how I had imagined. I also switched out the harp for one I already had because it was a little too tall. Either way it was easy to assemble. I will definitely buy more for future projects.

This kit worked out perfectly for creating a lamp from a bottle. The length of the cord was generous, and picture in instructions was helpful. My only suggestion would be for the sides of the cords be color coded. Identifying the side of the cords with ridges is tough because it is so slight of a difference.

I have an old whisky jug that my Mom converted to a lamp about 50 years ago. I remember the rubber insert that fits into the opening on the neck had to be cut down to fit. Fast forward to today and the rubber insert has dried out and keeps falling out. This kit came with multiple inserts of different sizes and one fit the jug perfectly. Great quality and looks good too. Highly recommend!

I bought two of these kits to turn two large demijohn wine jugs into lamps. I'd seen something similar at an antique store for $150 a piece and thought I could do it just as well. The kit just came with a diagram, but it was easy enough to figure out that I did it while my husband was at work (because he was basically an electrician in the Marines, not because I'm a woman). I didn't want to put a hole through my jugs so I used the secondary hole in the socket to run my cord through. This took a little extra thought to figure out the order that everything went together, but it took maybe 20 minutes for both lamps. The hardest part was hollowing out the hole in the cork (purchased separately) with a torn ligament in my thumb. I will likely buy more kits because it was easy to set up and everything looks well made enough that I won't have to replace them in a year like some I've seen. Overall well worth the money!

I’ve learned now how to put together lamps, and this product works great. Very easy to use.
