Got a DeWalt Impact Drill and didn’t want to buy all new drill bits that have the adapter - so bought this chuck, and it works great! Love it. Made in Japan and WAY better quality than I would expect for the price. This is a throwback to the best of the best DeWalt quality!

Very well made, heavy, solid feel. Have used it numerous times with no problems. Having said that, I have seen reports of the chuck seizing in either the opened or closed position. This one was starting to give me problems along the same lines. I sprayed it with WD-40 and that seemed to take care of the problem. Just something to keep an eye on. So far after lubricating it I've had no problems.

INFORMATION FOR PEOPLE GETTING BIT STUCK OR UNTHREATENING THE ARBOR. So common sense would dictate this is obviously not a single solid cast or machined peace but rather multiple components assembled together to create a very handy keyless drill chuck that ready locks in to your impact driver. As such the arbor is threaded into the rear of the chuck that being said when used with an impact driver you can over tighten the locking ring of the chuck (black ring) to a point that it's tighter than the threads of the arbor that go into the rear of the chuck. Two simple FIXES! If you do manage to unthread the arbor simply apply a dab of red Loctite or even super glue or nail polish reinstall the arbor securely into the rear of the chuck then let it cure. Now use it as normal and get back to work. In the event that your chuck is still torque to a greater spec than you can manage to loosen with your attached impact driver just add leverage to solve your problem put a pipe wrench or channel locks or bench vise pretty much whatever you have handy on the silver forend and another pipe wrench or vise grips on the black ring turn the wrenchs opposite of each other to loosen the bit and now you're back in business simple fix no need to return it or assume you lost a drill bit to the cuck it's a very simple keyless chuck that plugs into an impact driver not much to it (same goes for the Dewalt or Makita version I use both) . Always remember the 10 percent rule! Ya gotta be 10 percent smarter than the tool your using.

the light is very durable for i owned one for two years prior to purchasing this one, and i carried it in my pocket. I am a mechanic and my pockets gets real grimmy sometimes. but the reason i bought another one is because the on/off switch finally give up. when this one has problems i will buy another one, they are very good lights.

I was thinking, DeWalt, it has to be okay. At twice the price of other items, this simply is not a good product. Either the bit came loose or finally got so stuck that I cannot remove it. This is my first use of the product and I simply have to throw it out. I would not purchase this again.

I just bought the Dewalt battery impact drill. I wanted the chuck to go with it for standard drills and holes saws. I went on line, found this, and bought it. I couldn't get it to work properly, so I read the directions. Please don't tell anybody. I learned that this chuck is designed specifically for an impact drill. I was trying to install bits like it was a conventional chuck. Turns out, the impact function of the drill activates the clamping mechanism in the chuck. It works really well! I recommend this.

***UPDATE*** As a homeowner this initially was a nice accessory for the Dewalt cordless drill (which I do like, and use all the time.) This chuck just broke today. The steel shaft that inserts into the drill broke cleanly in half while I was drilling some wood. It failed right at the machined groove that retains it into the drill. Probably been used less than a dozen times, and wouldn't have expected such casual use to have it fail in exactly 5 months. UPDATE: I contacted Dewalt and they replaced the item under warranty. So, I'm glad for that. It does seem like a sturdy drill accessory. Maybe mine was just bad. If it hadn't broke, I'd give it 5 stars. I should add that Dewalt customer service was excellent.

Its a expensive chuck but its better than any of the others i brought of Ebay the cheap ones from china. Where i find these chucks fail is normally the screw tends to come loose from the centre of the shaft inside the chuck. This one has no screw which is good so you dont get that problem. I have only used it once drilling into a metal fuseboard but i would recommend it and it is well built.

Comprei a parafusadeira de impacto e várias brocas. Porém, não verifiquei se o encaixe das brocas e so percebi quando chegaram ambos que não batia. Esse adaptador serviu bem. Contudo, me parece que a broca fica meio frouxa. Não cheguei a testar na parede
