Melody (TM) 4 Channel Speaker Selector Multi-Zone Audio Home Surround Sound Control with Impedance Protection

I bought this to replace one that went bad. We have an event center with different speaker zones. This fit the bill and was easy to install. You can select which zones you want on or off with a push of a button or you can have all on at once. It has performed well with no issues. Just a note it just controls which speaker zones are on or off, there is no volume control. You have to had a receiver for that.

I cheaped out when I installed my audio system 5 years ago with an open-box multi-zone receiver... that never worked properly. When it failed last month I found the SONY DH790 receiver and purchased it only to realize it was not a multi-zone receiver.The Melody Speaker selector was the perfect solution, and the combo is far superior to the more expensive multi-zone receiver I had previously. Easy to install, and works exactly as expected. I now have great sound--when I want it--on my deck/hot tub area.Great value.

I have one of these units. It does not support 6 pr of speakers as advertised in the write-up. Only 5. The unit works fine though.

It was easy to hook up to my home sound system and works great.

Purchased this unit as I often switch from large floor mounted speakers when Inwant full volume and range to bookshelf speaker when still want the wide stereo effect for television watching.Easy to set up but would have want to see the following features if I ever made a similar purchase again.-would have been nice if the terminals were marked “left” and “right” to make it a bit easier for booking up the speakers.-would have liked the option of using my banana plug that were already connected to the speaker wires. Since I wanted the option of quickly reconnecting directly to the receiver, I kept my banana plug on the speaker wire and then connected female banana plugs to short wires that were then connected to this unit. It could mean that there is limited impact on sound quality or it could mean my 60 plus years of listening to music has impacted my hearing.I have no problem recommending this unit. Keep in mind that there are no sound controls for the individual channels so you have to control volume for all the engaged speakers through your amp or receiver.
