Creature comfort in the garage!
I've had this for a couple years now and I thought I'd review it. Installed it in the garage and it works great. My dogs love it and I love it. Having a temperature controlled area to work and for my dogs to get out of the sun is awesome. Super easy install if you know what your doing. It's quiet and we run it quite often and haven't noticed much difference on our electric bill. The one I got has a heat pump so it cools and heats.

It works great and is super quiet!
Had a A/C service install the unit, Iโm disabled, but itโs very straightforward from what I could tell if you have some mechanical and electrical skills along was following directions, it shouldnโt be hard to install. The unit cools and heats well. Iโve had the heat on to dry out cabinets in my shop/office after painting them. So far Iโve been very satisfied with this unit. Seems well constructed and runs efficiently! Itโs very quiet and just what I needed. Where I live itโs hot and humid, but cools great. I recommend it!! UPDATE: IVE BEEN USING THIS UNIT FOR 8 months now. Itโs great, super quiet and cools well when itโs over 100 degrees and heats well down into the 20โs with the wind blowing hard most of the time. Iโm impressed. My Air Conditioning Tech was impressed with it as well. He commented several times how well it was made and that the compressor adjusted to the demand, said thatโs extremely important.

Good Mini Split Air Conditioner
After going years without air conditioning in a converted attic bedroom, I decided to have a system installed, but after getting quotes of many thousands of dollars for a small room, I decided to look into DYI units. I searched all over the internet and my town for a unit that had a combination of ease of installation, good user experience, and most importantly, price! After I found the DELLA 12000 BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heater Ductless Inverter System, 19 SEER2 208-230-Volt system at such a low price, I was at first skeptical that it could be any good. But because my pockets were a little light I decided to take a chance. I'm glad that I took that chance because after getting it installed it has operated beyond my expectations. It cools the room way better than any previous air conditioners, plus it has a heat option. Also compared to the other units my electric bill is lower. I installed the unit myself and it was easy even though I have never done this before. I did have a small problem with the torque specifications listed in the installation manual, Do Not Use The Foot Lb specification listed in the book, use the Newton meter specification. For some reason the Ft Lb specifications are wrong. If you use these you will crack the flare nuts and the unit will leak. Overall I feel that this is a good product, as for how long it will last, only time will tell. I will update if I have any problems.

Worthless wall decoration.
This unit does not work. The fan comes on for about 5 min and kicks off for hours. Sometimes it wonโt come back on until you mess with the settings on the remote. Sometimes that doesnโt even work. Sometimes if you hit the swing button it will turn the fan on. My home is freezing because this thing is worthless. Reviews seemed good so I made the choice to purchase. Biggest waste of money. I did have it professionally installed. Contacted the customer service number. Spoke with Adrian. All they did was email troubleshooting guides. Most of which came with the until and the one is in Chinese. I do not read Chinese. They were not help. As he advised I emailed him back and told him they were of no help. He asked to confirm the line set has been properly attached and free of damage. Well yes. I already told him that on my first call. Everything is installed correctly but it still does not work. I emailed back telling him that. So itโs not a quick process to go through customer support to remedy the issue. Through Amazon the only option is to return the product and wait for them to receive the item and return the money back. They wonโt send a replacement. Well we need the unit. Temps are super low right now and we had this installed prior to move in. We are now moved in and donโt have the option of going without heat. Iโll wait for a reply from customer service but looks like this will be going back. If anything changes I will update the review.

Great unit!
The DELLA unit is working wonderfully! I did have it professionally installed, but for the most part it was definitely DIY able (biggest problem would have been the need to vacuum the line set down). It does a wonderful job heating and cooling my studio.

Powerful yet Quiet
Bought the 21 SEER 12,000 BTU for 700 ft upstairs living area. Worked great to keep in the low 70s all summer. Bought the 19 SEER 12,000 BTU and the 24,000 BTU for the 4-car garage/workshop areas. The only difference between the two 12,000 BTU units was the length of the refrigerant lines. The 21 SEER has a 6 ft line, the 19 SEER has a 25 ft line. We needed longer lines for our garage units. The 21 SEER seemed to work better in keeping the area cool, but the house insulation is better than the workshop. The units did a great job keeping us cool for the 100+ 4-month long Texas summer this year. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because we did not know about the yearly maintenance required to keep these units mold free. There are videos on YouTube that explain how to clean these units to remove mold. The one we liked best was DIYJIM cleaning a Mitsubishi unit. Our unit was harder to clean as Della's blades that move air up and down do not come out. The Mitsubishi's easily slide out to give better access to the side to side airflow blades and water pan. Della should follow Mitsubishi's air flow blade design. I had to wrap a wet cloth around a long thin stick to clean the horizontal airflow blades and surrounding area. I used a 50/50 vinegar/water solution to do this as vinegar kills mold. We used the unit for four months so were happy to only have minor spots of black mold on the horizontal blades. There was no mold on the "hamster cage" cylinder fan so we only had to vacuum it. We did discover that one should leave the unit on 24/7 to allow the unit to remove standing water. We often turned it off if the temperature became too cold. We now will just adjust the unit to a higher temperature. As said before, the units work great and are easy to install/use; however, I do not like the idea of mold growing in the units. I don't think this is a problem with central air conditioners. A couple times towards the end of our 4 months continual use, we had water dripping inside the house off the airflow blades. We believe this was because of excess water due to outside humidity and the unit not draining the water effectively. The a/c man that installed a friend's duckless unit installed it at a slant so the side with the hose line for water removal is slightly lower. Our units were installed level as shown in the instructions. If we were to do it again, we would install them slightly tilted towards the water hose end. They do use less electricity than central, but not as much as we had hoped. Maybe 40% less. The price they are showing now is much lower than what we paid. Our 12,000 units were around $1,000, now it shows them at $700.

So far so good...
Installed it myself and has been running a couple weeks now. So far so good--cooling seems pretty strong. Unit is very quiet. I purchased a vacuum pump, vacrometer gauge that read in microns, a valve core removal tool and some adapters. Many of the YT videos recommended removing the (shrader) valve core on the service port before pulling vacuum. But i was worried I may not be able to reinstall it properly through the valve core removal tool. I just left the valve core in place and the vacuum pulled down fine within 8-10 minutes since this is a relatively small system. So in the end i only used the valve core tool as a shutoff valve and a place to mount the vacrometer. I am not clear on exactly how the dehumidify function works. It does not appear you can set a humidity level like with a humidistat. I had difficulty getting the app to connect to the unit through my xfinity gateway (combines modem and router function). I had to install a separate router and it connected fine. As someone mentioned--dont lose the remote! There are no controls on the unit.

Should've Done This A Long Time Ago!
Been using a 10,000 BTU KoolKing portable unit that has the hose that sticks out the window, which wasn't cuttin' it. Also, it was very noisy and only cooled when it wanted to. So, it was time for an upgrade. Something that also wasn't going to take up some of my floor space and occupy my window. I'm not specialized as an electrician or HVAC tech, but you can learn a lot from YouTube University and common sense. So, installation, to me, was pretty straight forward. I was lucky to already have a fresh 220 volt line going to my bedroom for the baseboard heater under the house I was able to tap into. Doing so also freed up the load on an already, possibly, overloaded 110 volt circuit. So, just had to run power, punch a hole in my wall, connect the lines, run a vacuum, then release the refrigerant. Very simple, to me, and it's working beautifully. It's so whisper quiet too. Might consider an 18,000 BTU unit for the living room later. Update, now that it's getting cold out... It's been doing pretty good keeping the chill off in my room. The heat it puts out is so gentle and cozy. The only thing annoying is when it's on Auto and it switches itself from Heat to Cool or vice versa, the louvers go into the down position and I have to push the swing button on the remote and wait for them to go back up. Maybe Della can come out with a software update. Also, when it's on Heat only, it seems to not blow at all unless it's heating.
