Even with the Arizona sun beating on that EPDM roof for 30 years and experiencing minus 25-F winters and 4ft snows (Flagstaff at 7,300ft!), there's no signs of weakening. Adhesion locations (seams) are slightly lifting in some areas, but they've got a lot of life left. In the old days we used a special primer and glue to make the seams. If staples are used in the planters to secure the material to the upper rim, they can easily be sealed with a tiny patch of the same tape. Fast.
