I like this flashlight
I like this flashlight. It is a serious, functional, and well-designed light. It has only two minor "cons" which I'll get to below. On the "pro" side, it is probably the best small flashlight I've ever owned. It is well programmed. It is easy to turn on and get to the precise brightness I want -- from battery-saving dim to movie set bright -- without getting tangled in blinking and flashing modes. I can't prove the numbers, but I would guess the manufacture's claims of brightness are valid. It can be *VERY* bright. It has strobe and blink modes, but they are programmed separately so they don't get in the way. I won't go into all the "accessory modes" (blinking, flashing, whatever) since I don't use most of them, but I'll admit some are rather creative. For example, there is a patterned flashing mode like a bicycle light to carry when you are walking next to an unlit road at night. And there is a slow-flash "beacon" mode that could be useful to someone stranded on the water or in the wilds at night. There is even a mode that blinks-out the battery voltage so you know when to recharge. Depending on how much brightness you use, a charge on the three Lithium batteries can last for a very long time. The aspect ratio of the body of this light is different from most flashlights -- it is short and fat. It fits well in my hand -- and I'm not a big person -- with the single control button comfortably under my thumb. The button action is crisp and well-defined. The reflector does not have variable focus, but with the brightness this light has, I don't consider that to be a problem. Which brings me to the two "cons": first, and most important for the way I often use this light, there is no place to attach a wrist lanyard. Without a lanyard, I fear dropping the thing overboard. I have temporarily rigged something with zip-ties and some cord, but it's a kludge. When I have time, I will try to do better with some macrame wrapped tightly around the body of the light. But I shouldn't have to do those things for a light of this quality and price. There should be a solid way to attach a wrist lanyard. The second thing that bothers me is the little rubber plug that covers the charging port. My experience is that these plugs, which occur on many devices, don't hold up well. They soon fatigue and break off. When that happens the device is no longer waterproof. So I guess I just have to be careful with it. And one other note: This light can be used to light an indoor space, like a room. It stands easily on its back-end pointing up and reflecting off the ceiling for nice indirect lighting. The manufacture recommends using a diffuser to scatter the light around the room, and apparently they sell one for the purpose. Amazon doesn't sell them and I haven't gone searching elsewhere for one, but I have made a perfectly good diffuser from a piece of baker's parchment (I might also try tracing paper) rolled into a long cone and placed on top of the upward-pointing light. It works.

Very good light, recommend
This review is for the sofirn Flashlight High Lumens, 8000 Lumens Super Bright SP36 Pro Not sure what the 3 star ratings are all about. 1 & 2 stars happens to all lights. This light provides great flood lighting that reaches out a good 40 yards easily lighting up a large area with bright cool light. Yes it gets hot and yes it ramps down after a few seconds when on turbo/max setting. That is normal for ALL light of similar size and output. It is unavoidable, do not understand on why people believe this to be unreasonable. To have a light this bright that will stay on bright for the duration of the battery charge would need to be much larger, have cooling fins or even a fan attached. Light mfgs make lights that are as bright as we ask for, then some complain. Not having a way to put a strap on this light is a downside. But a zip-tie with a loop of paracord will suffice nicely. One comment mentioned there is a ring artifact on the beam. I never noticed it. The Anduril II UI is fantastic. I hated it until I actually played with it for a while. I cannot remember all the settings but I do learn the ones I use the most and I have the manual/chart and I run through it to see which features are actually activated. Candle mode is great for sleep time, especially on timer mode. I use the lightening mode for Halloween! To me, this light at its price is a bargain.

Allarounder Flashlight
This Flashlight is very well build, it functions with Anduril 2 which you can use in Simple UI or Advanced UI for lot of customization. It probably doesnt reach 8000 lumens ( more in the 6 to 7000 range as per performed tests ) in light output, but I think it has more then enough power for all your needs. Its not a pocket or a monster light, it fits right in the middle for me and you can probably carry it in one of your pockets. You have here a versatile light, that can go from 5 lo close to 8000 lumens and with 9000 mah a lot of runtime if you dont always use the high or turbo modes. Powerbank is also a very useful in case you need to charge your cellphone or tablet. The flaslight uses 4 luminus SST 40 leds, mine has the 5000k color temperature variant and looks very nice.

A Good, Lower Cost Option with Decent Power and Plenty of Features
A very nice light for enthusiasts with some cool features. The Anduril 2.0 UI is a lot to digest but allows for all sorts of flash patterns/options with lots of button presses on the switch. In terms of uitlity, the light is well built, heavy, and throws a decent pattern. The EDC35 I carry has a longer throw and seems much bit brighter on Lumen Shield but that's a $90 light. Still, with a claimed output of 8000 lumens to the 35's 5K, I expected the comparison to be be different; nevertheless, this light is still very bright. Overall, a decent performer that we'll keep in our remote 2nd home for hikes, power outages, and even disco lighting lol.

Excellent Size
I'm very impressed with the Sofirn SP36 Pro. The lumens/dollar ratio is very good. Typical of all of my Sofirn lights, the build quality is excellent. I'm partial to 5000K color temperature, and this flashlight fits the bill nicely. What I like most about this flashlight is its size. I own a BLF Q8. The Q8 is a nice light, but it's a bit of a handful for me. The SP36 Pro fits much more comfortably in my hand (three 18650 batteries as opposed to four in the Q8). Consequently, the likelihood is much higher that I'll grab/carry the SP36 Pro as opposed to the larger (and fewer lumens) Q8. I'm a fan of the Anduril user interface, so I was very comfortable with the SP36 Pro out of the box. Adventure Sport Flashlights mentions in his review the advisability of recalibrating the temperature sensor, but I haven't done so yet and I haven't perceived an objectionable reduction in brightness over a short period of time. My typical flashlight usage is in short bursts, so whereas I do intend to calibrate the sensor, I could easily forgo that and probably would not encounter any objectionable brightness drop-off. My single CON: I wish it had a lanyard attachment point, but I certainly can live without one. Overall, a 5-star rating!

Bright Flashlight, limited power bank
I bought this primarily because I needed a power bank for my iPad. I have purchased a number of Sofirn flashlights and really like their quality. So, if I had to get a powerbank, why not get one wrapped in a solid metal casing, excellent UI and excellent flashlight? That was my thinking. The other reviews are spot on - nice beam, a ton of light if you want it. To be honest, it's a little scary having that much power in your hands. Literally, I did get a little spooked carrying 3 Li-ion batteries in parallel around, or leaving it at home charging. That's a lot of power - just how careful is sofirn's charging strategy? Anywho, my flashlight came with 3 3000MAH cells, for a total of 9000MAH capacity. I ran the batteries through a few use cycles, fully charged it, then attempted to charge my device with it. I had some trouble getting it to activate as a power bank. Eventually it did, though I am not sure what I did (or didn't do) to make it wake up and send power. When I did, the unit received approximately a 2000MAH charge, and the light quit sending power. None of this left me feeling great about how I was hoping to use it, so I returned it. Grateful for easy returns with Amazon.

Decepcionado totalmente
