We live next door to someone who doesn't take care of their pets, and their pit bull guard dog is one of them. The poor thing thinks it's his sole purpose to police the block and barks at everything, and sometimes you can tell he's doing it because he's scared. Whenever he starts barking for more than 15 minutes, I know he'll be barking for hours so I give him two of these and he calms WAY down. I'd say it works for about 4-6 hours, which is usually enough time to get him to go to sleep at night (and allows me to sleep as well!). These treats do crumble pretty easily, so that could be a benefit it you want to mix it in with food, but would be bad if you have a dog that bites when you hand-feed. The package arrived and it looked like it had been tossed around quite a bit but most of them were still intact. The aforementioned pit bull seems to really like them, but he is in no way a picky eater (and he takes to hand-feeding like your hands are made of silk--so gentle!).As a public service announcement, I'd just like to say that keeping an animal like that outside and never interacting with it will eventually psychologically scar a dog, not to mention the physical damage that neglect causes. This dog is incredibly sweet and I'd adopt him if the neighbors decided they didn't want him anymore (they certainly act like they don't). The way he peeks in through the window to see what his owners are doing breaks my heart every time.

I am so glad I found these for my Bessie Boo. Every time it thunders, firecrackers or gun shots {we live in the country} she starts shaking and panting. I gave her a half and within about 30 minutes she had calmed down.

I was unsure about this product when I bought it at a pet store but then I bought it off Amazon because what I've noticed is when I give it to my little teacup Australian shepherd it really does make a difference on car rides. you have to allow 1 1/2 hours, But what I have noticed is he does not pant a lot while hes in the car anymore and he does relatively stay calm in the car so this was our main goal for a calming treat I'm intrigued although I must say When we do leave the house it really doesn't do too much to help he has severe anxiety but at least in the car he does very well when I give on the calming treat

Love these!!! My dogs panic about everything and the barking can be very annoying. When I give these "chill out chews"-I notice them start to want to cuddle or nap instead of bounce off the walls. Worked good too for use prior to cutting nails. My dog who usually fights me the most was only mildly annoyed by it this time!! Will buy again.

I purchased these because they had good reviews. My 75 pound female gets anxiety from loud noises, so these were a must the week + leading up to the 4th of July. They definitely mellowed her out, and made her sleepy, because one night I didn't give them to her while fireworks were being let off and boy was there a difference, she was up shaking all night. I gave some to my 95 pound male just to see what they would do for him ( he doesn't have any anxiety issues) and they did nothing for him. They both got the recommended 2 chews, but there was definitely a difference in how my 2 dogs responded.

My girl gets very anxious with storms and general anxiety- she is a rescue and had issues . I give her one every morning and if there is a storm she gets another. It has dramatically improved her mood!! she is relaxed and playful and happy! love this!

My dog is a 13 year old Jack Russell mix and as such he has lots of energy. He also has some nervous behaviors: being anxious when we go to groomer/boarding, and getting up early in the morning.I feel like these treats help with both and calm him down. He doesn't get too anxious when he must be boarded (the workers there can attest to that) and he can sleep for 8 hours through the night.I recommend these for the above reasons, plus my dog likes them.

Our dog has pretty bad separation anxiety and he is full of energy. Anytime we leave the house for a couple of hours he gets very upset and nervous. These chews seem to calm him down a big. The last two times we left him for 4-5 hours at a time and he was pretty relaxed. We left a sound activated recorder at home and noticed that he only cried for a little bit. The says that these can be used as a daily supplement but we would rather save them for when we go out or need to take him for a long car trip.

I have tried other natural supplements to ease the nervousness of my dog but none have worked until now. The Vet's Best take a little while to work but do calm him down for quite a while. It is relaxing for him not being so jumpy at every noise and less stressful for the family. I will be buying them again. Great product, very satisfied.

I purchased this product through Amazon, as they have always had a generous return policy. I have followed the product instructions, as our 7 lb Maltese has anxiety surrounding car rides and grooming. I tried the suggested amount with no luck at all. I even tried increasing the amount, still with no success. To add insult to injury, if I want to return the inferior product my Amazon account has indicated I will need to pay postage. Shipping this from Canada will be incredibly expensive, so I may as well toss this in the trash. Very poor quality, and disappointing I could not count on Amazon to pay return shipping. Read the fine print carefully before hitting the "purchase now" button on Amazon! You may be stuck with a crappy product and have to pay out of pocket to return it.

New dog in the house so we got these to give both the new dog, and our senior girl as everyone adjusts. It seems to really be helping with anxiety. It doesn’t make them sleepy just less on edge. Fewer stress yawns and less chops-licking while they’re on them so they appear to be more relaxed. At first they didn’t like the taste but that could just be my dogs. They eat them now without coaxing.

These treats did not help my dog. He hated the taste I use to have to hide it in another food and if anything I found it made him worse. I brought it up to the vet and she said it does not work for all dogs and some dogs are more sensitive. Do not buy this expecting a miracle.

These did not work at all. I tried doubling the dose too since our dog is 80lbs and I tried waiting a full hour but it didn’t matter. Despite several tries it was still ineffective. Even tried it on our little Boston Terrier and it didn’t seem to work on him either.
