EDIT: Okay, I ordered these again about a week later. I guess the first time I just got the luck of the draw. The second batch was like the COMIART pens: sanded from dirty, looking soft, and definitely not the same quality of workmanship or raw material. This set of pens not only doesn't have slits, but they also don't all have the holes. I'm really disappointed, and am reducing my rating to 1 star for the inconsistency of product. ORIGINAL: I ordered these at the same time as I ordered the COMIART bamboo reed pens. IMO, thEse are nicer. They are a smoother and natural finish, which, based on my personal, home-grown bamboo collection, means they come from originally cleaner and more mature stock. Also, these also have the slits in the points where the holes are - a better design from my research. I'm sure those other ones will work, but I think they may be a little softer in holding up.

These are decent reed pens
These are decent reed pens for what they are, I found the splitting of the tip after heavy use disappointing as I haven't experienced that before but I suppose it is liable to happen with smaller nibs.

Tip of one was broken, but I sanded it down

I'm not having an easy time with these.
I love the idea of them, I had to write on them in permanent ink to indicate which end was for the ink nib end. They don't hold or write that well and one of them splintered at the end. So disappointed, but I still love them!
