We have ordered superior food in this case Sunflower hearts but the squirrels found a way with the other feeders to jump, hang and empty the standard feeders and even knaw though plastic. I was worried we was going to go through a lot of feed and the smaller birds not getting anything. This is metal construction so more durable but the mechanism works a treat for the lighter birds which means the feed is reserved for them where the squirrels and larger birds use the other feeders and ground feeders. This gives us more control on the food distribution for the different visiting wildlife.
