This shampoo is so pigmented, very rich in color. Definitely more violet in color. It makes my hair super white, but my scalp tends to itch after use if I don’t “doctor” it up. What I have started doing that has reduced the amount of scalp itch is I’ve started adding a small amount of a moisturizing conditioner to the shampoo. I add a dime size amount of this shampoo and then a pea size amount of a moisturizing conditioner to my hand on top of the shampoo. I then rub my hands together to “mix” and then I apply to my hair. I then immediately wash my hands in cool soapy water afterwards to avoid any of the shampoo dying my nails and hands purple. I repeat this process a second time. Both times I leave the shampoo on my hair no more than 4-5 minutes. If left on longer, you chance having some purple hair. After I repeat this process twice, I the. Wash my hair with a very moisturizing shampoo. I then use the Redkin conditioner that matches this shampoo which I also mix with a very moisturizing conditioner. I have 4B hair so after shampooing and conditioning, I add a cream moisturizer to my hair and scalp. Once I started adding the conditioner to the products and washing with a moisturizing shampoo the scalp itch that I used to receive was reduced by about 98%. I will definitely continue to use because not only does it give me a beautiful platinum finish, it also it delays the brass from returning so quickly unlike other purple poo’s that I’ve used in the past.

This shampoo works really well however I do mix it with a little bit of regular Redken shampoo so it does not dry out my hair! Do not leave in hair extensions longer than a minute if you have blonde hair!

The perfect purple shampoo to maintain my blonde highlights. I can’t stand when it’s brassy and yellow. I use it once, maybe twice a week, and it maintains the more toned blonde I am going for. I leave it in for the 3-5 minutes it says after using normal shampoo.
