I needed a new hive to rehouse some bees that were trying to swarm and didn't have time to get to the local supplier, so I just put in an order here. It arrived fast and fully assembled. It is bare wood, so you would probably want to paint or stain it.

I have to say that the one I purchased last year was well made and is still in good condition. Yes, you HAVE to paint it (low VOC paint-- two to three times), or even wax it if that's your thing. I needed another one this spring. The deep and frames were fine but the bottom was cracked on one side. A total waste of my time. Returned and did not purchase another, especially since the reviews are novice (too many reports of damage). I have a super and frames from this brand (all good too, no issues from last year). I would suggest that the company cushion the bottom and the sides of the bottom board when packaging, for this would surely help with damage. There is no care put into the way it's pacakged in the box, unfortunately. Great product, poor packaging. Good luck.

This is a great bee box. I have purchased several and have been please with every box. Already assembled! I live in the south and love the screen bottom.I suggest you paint the outside of the box and let dry before adding bees.Happy bee keeping!

The media could not be loaded.  Solid box , the bees love it. If the Black Bears didn’t knock the thing down I would would have way more honey.
