Fit is good
I received the ear muffs in a timely manner. The comfort for my is very good, and so is the seal around my ears. I wore them at a 3 gun match for 7 hours and my ears and head felt pretty good after we were done with the match. The leather padding really does feel good after long hours. These are rated NRR of 26 which is pretty good but more is always better... to step up to 33 NRR does cost more... so what i have done is wear surefire ep 7 ear plugs with these muffs and that helps deal with loud AR muzzle break rifle shooting. The issue i had was that one ear muff started squelching so i had to turn that muff off halfway during the match. I filled out the return box on amazon and before i had the muffs shipped back they already had a new par ready to ship out and arrive at my door 4 days from now... I thought that was outstanding! Never had i dealt with an easier online exchange. If i didn't have the electronic issue i would have went 5 stars, we will see how the next pair holds up.I also called pro ear who is located in Michigan (yes pro ear is american made!) i spoke with customer service and they said that if amazon doesn't follow through they would! I couldn't believe it, pro ear obviously stands by there product and i will more then likely consider buying there flagship ear muff at some point down the road.i have tired the "Howard Lieight impact sports" (different company and product) and they did not provide me a good seal and after a day at the range y ears were ringing badly they are only an NRR of 20 which is not enough protection for 3 gun matches or indoor ranges. I would steer clear of those and consider these based on my excrescences.

Item works now and has a smaller fit.
I rate 3 stars as it is asking me to rate my purchase and not the product.I like Pro Ears hearing protection. These are smaller than mine but fit my husbands head. Also when i got them the batteries were dead. I had to take my spare set of "N" batteries from my Pro Ears hearing protection to check to see if they worked. I had to order more since "N" is difficult to find in stores. To be fair ,I can not find an email or contact for the seller. I did email amazon about batteries but heard nothing back from anyone. As far as the product...i have the Pro Ears Gold Predator which I love how they fit and feel. They do the job well. When i am on the range with instructor we are able to talk regularly to each other and hearing protection does their job. Do keep a spare set of batteries on hand. I had seen previous reviews about these being smaller and took a chance where when he buys fitted caps we have to find an unusually small cap size. I could not wear these as they would give me a headache.

Too tight for my head.
They have good sound, but I can't wear them very long.

Excellent headphones
I've had these for more than 6 months now and am totally satisfied. I've used them weekly for at least 2 hours at a time for about 4 months and used them for two full days in the spring. I'm still on the first set of batteries. The sound suppression is good and they are comfortable. If you are in a windy area they may not be the best for you. 15 - 20 mph wind generates a lot of noise. You can turn them down to decrease the volume of it but then you're turning down everything else that you want to hear.

Uses expensive hard to find batteries, not AA or AAA
I got these a couple of years ago at the same time as I got several other pairs. The deal with these things (electronic headphones) is that someone always leaves them on, so you pretty much have to replace the batteries every time you take them out. These things use ridiculously expensive camera batteries whereas the other ones I got use AAA batteries. Unless you want to drop $10 worth of batteries into a $90 set of headphones and try to track down Type N batteries when you are hunting in small towns, I'd get the cheaper models that use AAA batteries.

Good product, Pro Ear 300
I bought these because they allow uninterrupted conversation while others maybe discharging firearms. They excell in this but seem to also allow the sounds of gunfire to be louder than I prefer. I may need to look for other alternatives. They're extremely comfortable, the most comfortable ear muff I've ever tried. (I've owned and tried many)

Hard to beat these muffs...
Worn just as advertisied. With a suppression style electronics, they work smoothly and you can easily hear all conversation over any shooting in the background. It would be nice if these folded up into the headband like the Howard Leight units do, but it's a small disadvantage. These muffs are still superior to others on the market.

Not recommended.
I use this when I teach pistol classes on weekends.Cons: Uses N size batteries instead of easy to find and stock AA or AAA. Really cheap construction. No battery compartment covers. Batteries repeatedly loosened and or fell out during class with only moderate movement. Audio fidelity is second-rate, voices sound unnatural. Not durable. Audio went out in left cup after only 4 uses.Pros: Very comfortable to wear. Good passive noise reduction.I would not recommend this to anyone. I threw mine in the trash. i wore the same set of Peltor Tactical Pro SV ($270) for 13 years before they finally needed to be retired. No comparison. I'm going back to Peltor.

If your Pro Ears don't seem to work read this to get them to work
This is my second pair of Pro Ears (I also have the Mag Gold). I liked the first pair so much I bought a second lighter pair for hunting. I thought I had a defective unit, and was pretty unhappy. One side did not work, even with fresh batteries. I call Pro Ears customer support. They gave me a list of quick things to do to make sure the battery was seated properly and that there was no form caught between the battery and terminal. To my surprise, a quick roll of the battery and everything now works. If you think you have a defective unit, use batteries you know are working, check to ensure the batteries are in the right way and seated properly, roll the batteries, and make sure none of the form is caught in the battery contact. If that doesn't work then contact Pro Ear's customer support. I'm glad I did.
