$145.00. Pricey. I reviewed this originally on 19 April 2018. I purchase the product on 22 March 2018. Initially, It was larger than expected. It seemed sturdy. I thought it might be a winner. I was wrong.My dog is still a bit of a puppy, well, teen aged, based on his sense of humor and tendency to attempt to destroy anything he can when not being watched.My dog spends most of his time in a kennel outside. I wanted him to have bedding that was not messy and comfortable. I tried a different types of bedding when he was much smaller. Fred (the dog's name), yanked the bedding out of his dog house and began shredding the bedding. I tried straw but it turned messy.I continued to look for long term bedding to enhance his comfort. I found K9 Ballistics and read a few reviews and thought this bedding might have a shot at being a survivor. I was wrong. Since my initial 19 April review, my dog ripped a hole in the outer covering. I eventually caught Fred trying to jerk the oversized bedding through the dog house opening, stuffing flying around the kennel. I call that a fail.Unless, one is going to watch a dog 24X7, he'll delight in destruction because he is a dog and it brings them joy. Eventually, he will be trained out of this tendency but until then the K9 Ballistic dog bed does not hold up. It did not survive two months. I am $145.00 disappointed. I cannot recommend this product for an unsupervised dog. See the included pictures.

I went through $1000's in beds for my 3 great danes over the last 3 years and they were being destroyed within weeks. I found K9 Ballistics about 18 months ago and they are the only ones still here. This one (pictured with one of my Danes) is the best yet. Don't be disappointed like I was when unpacking. The cushions look real flat... but within 4-5 hours they poof up thicker than my own bed mattress. The two upper cushions have their own zip in compartments, which are hard to even notice since it's all black in there. The upper cushions on 3 sides really make a more cozy area for them to snuggle into. The XXL is BIG! The picture is of my 150lb female. The waterproof and chew resistant cover is VERY high quality as are the internals. This would be really wonderful for a large dog and litter, although buying a 2nd cover might be a nice option for that scenario for frequent changing. I only wish I had not chosen blue. It's so big, be sure to choose a color that blends with your room. It's no cute little bed in the corner.

I was at first impressed by the materials, it’s something you could probably take camping you, and I am hopeful that this bed won’t be destroyed by my nesting greyhound like so many before. It’s a bit fiddly trying to get the bolster pad into its proper location. The tassel attached to the zipper pull came off in my hand and the zipper began to separate behind the pull. Customer service was very responsive and they sent out a new cover immediately. This time I took more care around the areas where the zipper turns corners and was successful. I just hope I don’t have any reason to have to remove the bolster cushion in the future. Overall, I’m happy and optimistic that this will be the last dog bed I will ever have to buy.

I notice now that the description has been changed. When I first purchased it, it was rated as a "Chew proof" bed. Yet within 3 days, my 20lb. shepherd mix had torn right through the fabric in two spots and destroyed the inner stuffing. They original description was a "lifetime guarantee", but now it has been altered to a 90 day guarantee. And it is a ONE time replacement. They sent me the top "chew proof" cover for heavy chewers and within a week, it was also chewed through. $145 wasted.Now that the description has been changed, at least people should know ahead of time, but I don't even think that a 3/5 rating is high enough for the durability. It's a step above the canvas bottom on a Pet Supply Store bed you get for $80.

I bought a medium as replacement bed for my 49 lb Pit. She loves it so much I got her a large. She prefers to sprawl when she sleeps. They are fantastic beds and worth the money. I also have a third bed of theirs, different model with plush top, and the crate pad with heavy cover. Easy to clean by hand. Little need for regular machine washing. FYI: she isn't a chewed but heavy digger. They hold up well..Pictures on large and medium.

This dog bed is fantastic. I can walk over the top of it and still not touch the ground. My dogs love it. My two large dogs are able to lay down in the XL together. I can tell my senior pitbull it.The material that the dogs lay on is very, very sturdy. My lab has a habit of pawing at things until she lays down. I won’t have to worry about her ruining this dog bed. It was a bit of a struggle trying to get the mattress and bolsters inside the covering, but once it was done, it made one heck of a soft comfy bed.
