Batman the Dark Prince Charming

This is no fairy tale
Great story and art work, more of an adult Batman story. Which I think is great and I wish there were more like this. The only thing I did not really love about this was I think in the story Batman was written a bit too sloppy. This could be explained because he is angry so he makes mistakes. I also do not like how obvious the make the similarities better Bruce and Batman. This is a great Batman story with much more adult theme and artwork. All this fits the story perfectly. I would give this 4.5 if the characters were a bit close to there cores this would have been perfect. Though this an international take on Batman so even thst I can understend. Definitely worth a read.

Beautiful art and craking story
Italian artist has written the story and drawn the pictures too. I like the introduction and post script to the story.Art work is stunning. The plot contains many bat villains but keeps a very good suspense till end. This could be a next batman movie.

An Elseworld that is only one step away
“Batman – The Dark Prince Charming” collects the excellent graphic novel by Italian writer-artist Enrico Marini (previously published as two comic-books).This is an oversized hardcover, 12 inches by 8½, roughly the size of a European graphic album, and the artwork definitely looks like a European album, but a very good quality one, and doesn’t have any noticeable European quirks – you’d be hard put to realise that it was European if you were unfamiliar with Euro-albums.The story is also very good, and doesn’t suffer from the usual Elseworld problem of trying too hard to be different. This could easily be the “Earth One” Batman of that particular Elseworld series in terms of down-to-earth realism. Even the Joker is played just right, and the characterisation of all the main players is also spot-on.The only thing stopping this being mainstream continuity is the resolution of the story, and then only because it has been done, as it were. The closing scene was a complete surprise to me – it just never occurred to me…PS: The only flaw I could see was page 3 – even though we knew who it was, that page, or at least the bottom half, should have been on an even page so that you turned over to see it; it is a basic comic book layout rule that a reveal like that shouldn’t be on a ‘facing’ page as that gives away the surprise.
