Find good brick edges, and they’re great!!
My brick doesn’t jut out very far, and it’s not uniform. But since was able to find areas with enough purchase to allow the clip to grip to it, and I just scraped away a little mortar if I needed more of an exposed edge. I used a mini prybar to get these things on. Yes, the bottom “springs” are tight, as they should be! Grip the upper teeth on first, then pull one side of the spring down, then the other, until you wedge it under the brick edge. Then push it/bang it as close into the mortar as it will go. After hanging my metal art the first time, it was on the table when I came back to it. The clips had sprung off the brick because I didn’t find bricks that had enough edge to grip, and the edges were slightly smoothed/curved, so the springs slid back up into their original position, and both clips came right off the wall. I found better edges to grip the clips to the second time, and make sure I wedged the springs as far in as they would go. My bricks were about 1-1/2” (give or take), and that pulled the clips to their max. It made the clips bend I slightly, but that worked better because it forced the hanging prongs to stick out a little to grab what I needed to hang. For the larger item with a thicker metal hanging circle, I pryed out the hanging tab in the clip first. For the smaller metal art scrolls, I didn’t even use the hanging circles, because they we’re too small for the clip tabs. So I just placed the smaller metal scrolls through the tabs, which worked great because I used both tabs on the clip. I gave it a few days to make sure the grip was solid, and tested it by tugging at it a bit before I felt good enough about it to put the glass votive holders in. No damage to the wall, I can change position if I change my mind, and it seems to be pretty stable! The hardest part was spending the time to find just the right locations with enough brick edge, close enough to where I wanted my art, in places where the other clip would also have enough brick edge to grip. It was kind of a game of Tetris, but that proved worth it!

Works perfectly!
I was ready to drill into the brick chimney until I found these. Arrived the next day and it took about 10 seconds to get the clip in place. So easy and I'm very pleased because it is barely noticeable.

Perfect for my historic brick!
These things might just be the most ingenious invention ever! We bought some very cool Ripley's Believe it or Not posters for our "Ripley's" themed game room, and we desperately wanted to hang them on the brick wall. Our house was built in 1921, and there was NO way I was drilling holes into the mortar or my beautiful brick. I went on a hunt on how to hang these, and gorilla tape and command strips were not holding. I came across these things on a YouTube video and couldn't be more pleased. My brick was flush against the mortar, so I chiseled out just a line right below the brick with my 5 in 1 tool, I also used the small edge to get the bottom pieces to clamp on, and they aren't going anywhere. So excited to be able to have décor on my brick walls!! Genius! For all the people saying you can't use these if you don't have space between your brick and mortar, that is not true. You absolutely CAN use them, you just have to be willing to chisel out a bit of your mortar. You don't have to remove much, just enough to get them to clamp on. Totally worth a shot to be able to hang things on your brick. :)

Straightened Out- The Clips Work Great :)
I have a newer home with king size bricks 2.5 inches thick. These clips had to be straightened out a LOT on the bottoms with Robogrip pliers. See photos. In order to install them, it was necessary to install the bottom part first and press the top part to get it to clip on. It was not possible to do the top first and then the bottom- at least not for me and my not so mighty hands. So far they are doing a great job staying out and holding my large framed art up on our covered patio!

Difficult to get on but stays once its there
The media could not be loaded. I am currently using these clips to hold up my hose reel near my water faucet. Because they sit so tight (which they have to, so that they stay on and grip the brick) it was very difficult to get them on with my hands alone. At first I thought maybe I bought some that were too small because it was so difficult to get them on the brick, however when comparing their height to the height of the brick they appeared to be the exact same size. What I ended up doing, was using a trowel for leverage. I have attached a video showing how I did that, in case its helpful to others. You could easily use something else like a flat head screw driver as well.So far they have been attached to my bricks, outside and holding up the hose reel for about a month with no problems. They seem very secure.

Measure before you buy!
I bought these to hang a wreath on my outdoor fireplace. I didn’t even think about measuring the brick, I assumed they were a standard size. Turns out, my brick is 2 3/4 inch wide, too wide to use these brackets unfortunately.

Easy and really works!
I was doubtful but it took about 10 seconds to figure out how to use them. A flat head screwdriver is handy to for an occasional clamp that might need a little adjustment and to move a clamp to center the art. Way sturdier than I expected but on a couple of pieces of art I used 2 clamps for peace of mind. No damage to my brick.
