It features delicately hand skived lower sides, where a thin stripe of the leather top surface is cut back, thus exposing the lighter coloured suede beneath which makes for a good visual accent and good comfort when pedalling. The large copper rivets at the nose and tail are also hammered by hand, commensurate with Brooks' usual high level of attention to detail. As is the case with all of Brooks' hand manufactured saddles, the Swift proudly sports a metal nameplate at the rear, and in addition two embossed graphic details on the sides featuring the saddle name and incorporating an icon of a Swift in flight. The frame is made out of chromium plated steel. On introduction the Swift was offered only with lightweight titanium rails. However, due to popular demand, since 2008 Brooks also offer the Swift Chrome, with traditional steel underpinnings, finished to Brooks' usual high standards with bright polished chromium plate. The Swift seems to be stiffer the the B17, but I could be wrong. This saddle started off very comfortable from the very beginning and only get better. There was very short period of time where it was a little uncomfortable but that went away very quickly. I used very little Proofide during break in. I just got another one for my second bike. Review: Great out of the box - This is everything I wanted in a saddle for my Brompton. Stylish and quite comfy straight out of the packaging. Doesn’t feel as if it will take long to wear in. I honestly can’t believe how comfy it is, as when looking and feeling it , it makes you think that somehow it’s not going to be comfy. The quality is second to none. It costs a lot but it’s worth it. This is my second one, I’ve tries others in the past but Brooks to me are the best. I keep. it outside very good saddle **Q: Is proofide and tensioning key included?** A: I think it varies -- I purchased the Swift Titanium and I did get Proofide. The tensioning key was also there, I believe - I say it like that because it is not the typical Brooks wrench, it is just an allen wrench for this seat.
