The metal clasping is thin and bends easily. This, in addition to the cheap plastic gasket, results in a very poor seal. I doubt they'll last more than 6 months.I'm only using these for tea leaves so I'm going to give them a shot rather than returning them. If you have any intention of storing liquid or anything that needs to be airtight, do not buy these.The good news is that because they're so poorly made, they're super easy to take apart and clean.

I have been watching a cooking show on Netflix called "Nadiya's Time to Eat". During one show she makes these 'instant meals' using jars very similar to these ones. I had to search a long time, everywhere online, to find these. I used my 'points' to buy them (if you have an Amazon Store Card or Amazon Credit Card you know what I mean). So I bought the set of six for a discounted price, but they are definitely worth the full price as sold on Amazon. They arrived in a very sturdy packing box. No fear of breakage. Each jar comes with a spare 'seal' (see my photo). I have not made the recipe Nadiya used similar jars for, but they are a GREAT storage for hommade spaghetti sauce. The one in the photo is now back in my freezer. I highly recommend this product, it is top quality. Yes, I WOULD know because I'm a US Federally Certified Quality Manager. Great wedding gift, or for anyone who cooks and stores food. They can also be used to store such things as buttons, etc.

Rubber seal does not stay attached.

These jars are great! They arrived VERY well packaged with no chance of breaking, which I really appreciate. They seal tightly and even included an extra sealing gasket for each jar. If I HAD to pick one negative thing about them it is that the labels are too big for the jars. They’re obviously made in a standard size to fit all the various sizes of jars this company makes, but theses jars are too short and the labels wrinkle around all the edges. I was actually only able to make 3 of the 6 labels work. But for me this was not a deal breaker since the jars were very satisfactory otherwise.

My expectations are higher than most. I spend hours cooking each day. I rely on high quality, efficient, well made products to enhance my culinary experience. Unfortunately I returned these. Why?I based my review on what I know. Glass equal to or higher than mason/ ball canning jar glass; their basic clarity, function, reliable glass holds up for hard work in the kitchen for years. Not equal to ball or mason. The thickness of the glass was light and might break with everyday use in the middle of preparing quality meals. Deal breaker for me. I need durable tools. I saw a review stating easy breakage and a bought these anyway to save money. HummThese may be fine if you don’t cook much or expect to use them often. I want beautiful glass container storage I can trust to house ingredients for safe use on demand. No fooling around. What is the weird round raised circle on top of the lid?If you want to look at a craft you put in this jar from a distance these are fine.I will be spending a lot more to get the quality everyday rough and tumble jar storage use with ease and joy in the kitchen.Best to each of you.
