Yes I think it would be fine to put charms on. I am very tough on my jewelry which isn’t good and it still looks as good as new!!

I don’t have the gram weight. I can say that it is made very well and it’s pretty heavy. I wear it every day and it’s still looks great. I would definitely buy this again for a gift.
