Magna-flip Clip on Flip up Magnifiers, 5.00 Power Converts Distance Glasses and Into Reading and Computer Glasses

Thick, Heavy (for a clip-on), but they work
I'm 71, and until recent cataract surgery, I've been very nearsighted. Being very nearsighted came with a 'superpower'. With my glasses off, I could focus on objects and read tiny print just a couple of inches from my eyes. Recent Cataract surgery erased that, and while drug store reading glasses filled in for normal text, even the strongest (+3) didn't cut it for the super-closeup stuff. These flip-up glasses do that, restoring the 'superpower'.So yes, I do still wear glasses. I can see (distance) OK without them, but I got a prescription for distance vision that sharpens the street signs a bit more. Hence clip-ons. I can also add these to my readers for just a bit more microscopic work. The field of vision is wider, and 'operation' is more convenient that the typical magnifying glass, either handheld or mounted on a stand.Yes, they are pretty think and somewhat heavy for clip-ons. Thick is irrelevant, but heavy might be an issue for long-term wear. I haven't warn them longer than just a quick test. Of course, I won't be wearing them 'around the house', even flipped up, but we'll have to see when I'm doing some soldering or other electronic circuit work on the bench. Stay Tuned

Super strong, bigger than I expected
I bought these for wearing when I'm using the sewing machine. It's hard for me to thread the needle with my older eyes. I have an old pair of magnifying glasses that I use when I cross stitch, and they are great -- they are small enough that they almost work like bifocals when they are clipped on -- I can see magnification when I look down, but regular when I look straight. These are too big for that, you gotta commit to seeing magnification when you use these. Still, they'll be okay for threading a needle -- I'll just keep them handy to the sewing machine and just use them for that purpose. It's easy to attach or deattach them to glasses -- you don't have to take off the glasses to do that, so that's all I need anyway.

Clip-on magnifying glasses
The clip on magnifying glasses fit onto the frames of my prescription glasses. The combination allows me to read the daily newspaper and periodic magazines. The clips are a bit difficult to slip onto the frames of the prescription glasses. The Clip-ons do add a noticeable weight. The convenience of flipping back and forth for distance versus readings is worth the minor inconvenience.

Barely does the job
Not a comfortable or practical solution for needing close vision. to bulky and inconvenient.

I'm to blame not the Magna-Flip Clips
These are really heavy and I for some reason did not read that and they are thick. I loved the 3x's magnifiers and I thought these are even more powerful, they should be even more awesome. I was wrong. These are ranked low because they are not what I wanted, but not because they were defective. So the blame is on me other than that they were delivered on time and in a nice glasses sheath and they work. I won't return them because I am at fault, if I had been more educated in what I was buying I would have bought the right ones in the first place. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003U8MTOO/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_7

Glasses are too short
I wear these magnifiers on my bificol fishing glasses. The magnifiers are unfortunately too short. They cover the distance portion of my glasses and do not extend down to the lower magnifying portion of the glasses. According with the magnifiers flipped down, I cannot see objects in the distance and cannot effectively use the magnifiers to tie small flys.

Good product
Heavy, but works great! I clip them on my glasses to help with jewelry making.
