Great value for the money.
I work full time as CNC machinist. I'm no pro, but for the money, Fowler makes a good product. I know it's not made in the USA, but some of us are poor and can't afford $300 measuring tools. I use this dial several times a week and it's always stayed accurate.

Great indicator at an even better price point
For what you pay for there is nobno better indicator. There is a slight difference in fit and finish than a much more expensive brand like starter or brown and Sharpe but this indicator works great. I use mine almost every day in My job as a machinist. The black dial face with white lettering is very easy to read, and I've had no problems with accuracy.

Excellent for the price.
I bought this indicator as a back up when running more than one machine, but now I think I will be pairing it along side my Mitutoyo while making gear blanks. One indicator held farther out than the other to swap between the two for inside boring and outside turning operations without having to readjust the single holder. The first measurement I made with this indicator was for the final pass while facing off a gear, and the result was as accurate as my caliper could measure. It looks and feels like something the manufacturer was proud of, and I am quite happy with my purchase.

Daily use
I have used this model indicator daily in the worst conditions.I indicate parts sometimes 4 or 5 times a shift.I keep 3 of them in my roving tool box. After 3 years of use I retired my original set and bought 3 new ones..I handed out the old ones to the apprentice machinists and there still going strong.A little worse for wear but still holding there accuracy.I've been making chips for 40 odd years and have the high end Starrett and Mitutoyo Sylvac indicators for high end precision work. That being said if you need a daily use roughing indicator these do just fine.I don't want to run a 300 or 400 dollar indicator on rough scaly stock its just not smart. These are precision instruments that require a little care in there use and storage.Keep them in there box when not in use.Yeah it takes a little more time to set up but they are protected.I work in the turbine industry and I haven't had a part fail QC because of these indicators.

Good product but. . .
When I looked at other micrometers they came with a back cover and a back cover with lug for attaching to other things. I assumed this one had both. It does not. It only has the back cover with lug. If you want to lay it on something flat or mount it to something flat, that's not an option. My only complaint. Otherwise everything is as expected.
