A Thorough History of the World Series
This version is an extension of "100 Years of the World Series" - adding the World Series from 2003 to 2011 to that compilation. It runs chronologically using photographs, rare film and historians to tell the story of the early Series. Newsreel footage is used beginning in the 1920s and footage from the Official World Series films is used beginning with the first of these annual films in 1943. Bob Costas narrates, as he did for the 2003 original. The set consists of four discs. The first two contain the actual program while the final two consist of bonus materials, including some television footage of the final outs of the Series being made and the clubhouse celebrations afterword.

Very good film, especially for the baseball fanatic.
The film is brilliantly produced by MLB Advanced Media, and narrated superbly by Bob Costas detailing each and every World Series up until the 2011 Cardinals Winner. It is the perfect blending of classic footage, classic interviews and awesome music. This set includes never before seen photos and video and also well seen video. The film itself is worth the money alone, the only thing i would change about the product is maybe making it into a Blu-Ray disc. I don't see why they couldn't ESPECIALLY due to the fact that the documentary is 4+ hours long and requires 4 DVDs to cover the documentary. I will definitely repurchase this if it ever becomes available in Blu-Ray format.

Two worthwhile, two marginal
The first two discs, which cover the first 108 years of the World Series, are well done. Discs 3 and 4, which have extras, are less worthwhile. If there could have been a more detailed look at some or all of the World Series, so that the review of the World Series filled 3 or 4 discs, that would have been more worthwhile than the current mix.

Great Documentary
Its great to watch. Bob Costas tells the result of every World Series from the debut up until 2011. Interviews are great and they show tons of highlights. If you love watching baseball and your a fan I would add this to your collection.

Customs Charges
Not tried the product yet, but the fact I had to pay a further £11.54 to the Post Office for a Customs charge was unappreciated. Why was I not made aware of this during the purchase from your site? I'm UK based obviously and would appreciate to be informed of such possible charges.

Efficient, but lacks depth
Bob Costas and a group of historians takes us through every World Series. Obviously, visual and audio clips of the early, early days are rare, so the time taken with each series is extended as we move through the era to today. It's a effort that skims the surface. Even the "extras" lack a little. I liked it but see no reason to watch it again soon.
