This review is for the larger size #2. (For whatever reason I think of as the "B type") These blades are a good wood hobby/general purpose blade and are easier than making, and sharpening a dedicated knife for me. The #2 is my favorite. In general they're not quite as useful as a "stanley razor-knife" but come in a close second. I use these #2 blades for carving/working sound holes in my violin tops. (The smaller "normal size" #11 will break it's tip in spruce wood within a narrow/close radius.) These #2 blades will split small bits of softwoods like a boss long after it's sharpness fades. (Actual "violin/bow" knives ARE in fact tapered in this way.) These #2 blades I do NOT feel are a good choice for any exotic hard woods. I.e Janka hardness from 2000 to 3000, and anything with Specific Density anywhere near 1. (Wood that sinks.) Maybe miniature work. It IS a good choice for anything requiring more detail than a "Stanley razor knife". They work leather okay. Wire insulation. Etc. I would recommend them over the #11 "normal" size

I will always recommend buying X-Acto brand blades over offbrand names. These are sturdy, exceedingly sharp and, depending on how they are used, will hold an edge for a long time.
