Review: chromatic harmonica - The cx-12 has a very pretty design and I really like the sound. It's my first time using a chromatic harmonica, but the sound is so captivating that I'm so happy to play it every day. I highly recommend it. ## Features - The cx-12 represents the greatest single innovation in commercial chromonica manufacture since hohner‘s introduction of the first chromatic harmonica in 1912.the concept was the brainchild of gerhard knoppek, a hohner r&d staff member who in 1991 was given the task of thinking up a radically new chromatic instrument. knoppek‘s construction was brilliantly simple - the comb and reed plate assembly is mounted in a one piece mouthpiece / housing unit and held in place by a powerful metal spring at the back. the slide can be removed instantly, but is exceptionally airtight. disassembly and reassembly of these components takes only seconds and requires no tools.the cx-12 was presented on the frankfurt music trade fair in 1992 and went on to win a major german industrial design prize. it is the preferred axe of chromatic luminaries such as bill barrett from hazmat modine or la studio crack tollak ollestad and is regarded by many as the most airtight and user-friendly chromatic on the market. - Cx-12for the discerning player who enjoys the details of fine instrumentation, this sporty chromatic can be easily disassembled for fine tuning and customization. a unique, aerodynamic design incorporates both the mouthpiece and cover plates into one unit, enabling a more thorough and uninterrupted resonance and a quick response that up until now was only dreamed of in the chromatic harmonica world. black housing. available in nine of the most popular keys as well as a low octave c major. - Specificationsitem name cx-12 black type chromatic key c,d,g,a tuning - chromatic number of holes - 12 reeds - 48 brass cover surface - abs reed plates 1,05 mm brass reed plate surface - brass mouthpiece surface - abs slide construction zigzag comb abs, black length 16,8 cm - Comes complete with black plastic hardcase. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0002F4TN2 | | Brand | Hohner | | Brand Name | Hohner | | Color | black / black | | Colour | black / black | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 out of 5 stars 214 Reviews | | Finish Type | Polished | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00190786084742, 04009126028192 | | Included Components | Case, Mouthpiece | | Instrument Key | C Major | | Instrument key | C Major | | Item Dimensions | 22.9 x 7.6 x 3.8 centimeters | | Item Type Name | 7545 CX-12 Chromatic Harmonic, Key of C | | Item Weight | 0.19 Kilograms | | Item weight | 0.19 Kilograms | | Manufacturer | Hohner | | Manufacturer Part Number | 7545-C | | Material | Metal | | Material Type | Metal | | Model Name | 7545-C | | Model Number | 7545-C | | Set Name | c cup | | Style | Key | | UPC | 190786084742 133587112061 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Colour:** Black - **Brand:** Hohner - **Instrument key:** C Major - **Material:** Metal - **Style:** Key ## Images ![Hohner CX12 C Key Chromatic Harmonica - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61ss78wYgtL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: where can one buy a used Cx12 chromonica?** A: We do not sell any used harmonicas. I would search the web for any deals. Thanks. **Q: Is it manufactured in Germany?** A: It says on the case it's made in Germany. It's also a great instrument. **Q: It come with case?** A: The CX-12 comes with Hohner's standard hard case which protects it very well. Great chromatic! **Q: What is low c? is this the same as a regular key of c chromatic** A: This is an 'industry standard' three octave chromatic harmonica. I have several 3- and 4-octave chromatics, from at least three brands, and the Hohner CX-12 is one of my regular go-to's. Easy to play, great tone (for my ears anyway!), easy to bend, easy to disassemble and clean. I actually keep one in my car to play along with the radio from time to time! All in all, a very good buy. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Calidad. *by J***. on 5 July 2026* Fácil de limpiar, si no te importa que sea de plastico. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ chromatic harmonica *by A***R on 6 March 2025* The cx-12 has a very pretty design and I really like the sound. It's my first time using a chromatic harmonica, but the sound is so captivating that I'm so happy to play it every day. I highly recommend it. ## Frequently Bought Together - Hohner 7545 CX-12 Chromatic Harmonic, Key of C, Silver (7545-C) - Harmonica 12 in 1 Repair Tool Kit by Harmo - 4 1/2 X 7/8 X 5/8 Inch Pocket Tool Set for Harmonica Service & Maintenance, Suited for All Brands - Hohner, Suzuki, Lee Oskar, Seydel - Designed in the USA - Hohner CX-12 Jazz Chromatic Harmonica, Key of C --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.ie/products/280360990-hohner-cx12-c-key-chromatic-harmonica](https://www.desertcart.ie/products/280360990-hohner-cx12-c-key-chromatic-harmonica) --- *Product available on Desertcart Ireland* *Store origin: IE* *Last updated: 2026-11-07*
