Its a dinky little thing, 13.5 cm long but very solid and feels well made. The blade that trims the 8 wires maybe could be wider as it leaves cores 1 and 8 hanging, but they have been cut, you just have to brush them off. I had wanted a crimper for several years but was put of by the price. This one is much more affordable.

Great little set for home networking. Plenty of boots and jacks. The tool is sharp and makes reliable, repeatable connections

For my needs, especially as someone just getting into wiring up RJ45s, this tool is great. It trims the wires neatly, leaving them perfectly flush. It can be difficult to feed the wires through the crimp tool, as there are two areas that tend to snag them. This can be frustrating; more often than not, you'll need to pull the wires out, straighten them, and attempt it again. However, this could also be due to my inexperience and a natural learning curve. ​From what I can tell, the pins of the plugs get crimped very securely by the tool. The only consistently negative thing I have found is regarding the tool's collar retention crimp. When used, it is actually too shallow; it doesn't provide a snug crimp and instead leaves a rather messy connection behind. This can be rectified with other tools, but it's a shame to have a feature included that ultimately does a poor job. ​Apart from that, I am really happy with the purchase and would recommend it

This tool made cutting, preparing and crimping CAT 5/6/7 cable onto RJ45 connectors a doddle. It’s so simple, especially paired with open ended RJ45 connectors which allow you to feed the cable fully through while preparing. It will crimp and cut the cable back to the perfect fit. Over 2000 crimps done an no failures yet…

Worked well with the pass through RJ45 plugs. Easy to use and wiring diagrams on the side of the tool. Used to make up around 6 patch cables.

Good value. It does the job well

The Positives: * Love the stripping tool, which makes taking off the jacket off the cable super easy. * The RJ45 connector sleeves are quite good too. * The crimping tool works well, although I have more to say on this in a moment. The Negatives: * The RJ45 connectors are really rubbish. Shame. Review: I bought this to knock up some ethernet cables for the home so that I didn't have so many cables dangling behind the TV and the computer. Unfortunately when I got it I struggled to get a single cable set up. My tester kept faulting my cables. It was frustrating. So I wasn't sure if the the problem was the tool or the connectors. So I was face with the question, should I send it back or not? I saw a comment from somebody saying that the tool was good. So I took a chance and bought some other RJ45 connectors that seemed to have good reviews. I have yet to put together a single dodgy cable with the new RJ45 connectors. So the tool is good but the connectors were just rubbish. I've thrown away now the connectors that came with the kit, and kept everything else. I'm happy with my tool, but you will need to order other connectors if you intend to make up your own cables, so you might just order the tool by itself, which you can find with a bit of searching it out on Amazon.

Paid for itself replacing broken 4 plugs (snagged and broken locking tabs) on long Cat5e cables - cheaper than new quality cables. Chose this version because plugs and hoods (covers) are included. Works perfectly at crimping on Cat5 plugs, but there are no instructions and it wasn't immediately obvious how the cut? and strip? functions are supposed to work - and the blades aren't going to last long cutting copper wire! A little intelligence, care and patience is needed to use successfully. It's important that the core wires go into the correct locations on both ends (see photo) and plugs are pushed in as far into the crimper as they will go. Only enough (not much) force to close the crimper is required to make perfect crimps. The separate little (yellow plastic) stripper works a treat if used with care (to avoid nicking the core wires). An identical one I had for years has gone walkabout, I can vouch for its general usefulness. The plugs are reasonable quality as are the covers though mixed colours would have been more useful. Score: 4 plugs successfully fitted with no trouble or 'wasters'. Proper Job! It's not beautifully engineered and I wouldn't expect it to last long if used professionally, but to replace the odd plug when it or a core wire breaks, it's perfectly adequate and good value. I've no idea why the pack of cable ties is included! A more robust, bigger, storage box would actually be of useful - to all customers!

Nie jestem specjalistą, ale do użytku domowego bardzo dobre narzędzie. Po minucie tutoriala na youtubie spokojnie można sobie przyciąć kilka kabli w domu, dużo główek w zestawie i kable wyszły bardzo dobrze.

最初は配線が反対にしてしまい、通電が全くしませんでした。 やり直したら、出来ました。 最初のコードを剥くのは、すごく簡単に剥けて感動。 LANのコードをまとめてやってみようとしましたが、硬いし無理でした。 ２５ｃｍほど剥いて１本ずつ入れていきました。 最後、はみ出したＬＡＮケーブルを切るのは、しっかりと力をいれてしました。 思ったより簡単にできて良かったです。
